Is it possible to install a z32 power steering rack on a 1994 q45t w hicas? It's time for a rack and I'm interested in a more aggresive steering ratio.

What is wrong with 90-93Q 2.6 turns vs your 3.0 turns.

Nissan seems to have lost this distinction as have rebuilders like Meridian as htere is only one part number.

In an urban area like CT, I could see it. At high speed in the Western US, I find the later ratio quite good and might find a faster ratio twitchy.

I'd prefer a much faster ratio something comparable to the 93 Q45. This is something I'd like to get around to in the future.

My PS leaks... I fixed the leaky hose but once in a while I find it making that whine noise and empty fluid. If its a rack problem I'm going to the junkyard to get a 90-93 one.

Will it effect the rear steering on the T models?

1994 Q45t has the quicker steering ratio. Don't think Infiniti standardized on the slower ratio until HICAS was deleted on t models in 1995.

without looking in the FSM, the 95 and 96t may have had the faster rack, im not sure though... Really its not much of a change, slightly noticable at best..

IMO itd be *way* easier to have a good OEM rack and retrofit a smaller steering wheel.
