Hello z32 owners,

I am new to the forum and would appreciate your help with a potential purchase. I found a z32 1990 n/a 2+2 in another province (I am from canada) and he is asking 4k.
It will be more of a project car and potential daily. Maybe a tt swap if i feel the need for it. I am in no rush to buy but am entertaining the idea. As of now the car would need paint and it doesn't rev past 5k due to code13 which i believe may not be hard to fix but what do i know

I will attach some pictures the guy has sent me and hope that you guy may be able see something that i didn't.
other than the tear and it seems to be in pretty good condition, didn't see any leaks on the undercarriage.

Your help would be much appreciated, thank you!

Where in Canada are you? We've got a guy from Alberta. Also moving this to general section because nothing is for sale in here.

thank you! I was unsure where to put this.

I am from winnipeg, manitoba. There's no 300zx for sale here and am looking into transporting one from out of province if it is a decent one.the 4k the guy is asking is right in my budget.

Took a look...IMO that car is only worth about $2K max, as it surely needs another $2-5K just to bring it up to mechanical par and able to go on for more than a few months and the next old car issue. Then paint and detail, more $$$.
The car seems good in the body (rust looks minimal) and isn't all torn up too badly, but the grime and other small defects hint that the car may well be at that point where it's giving up the ghost in many areas, as my old NA did...bottom line is those type of cars need a LOT of TLC, read $$$$ and time. It's a decent subject for a total refresh project with a healthy bank account behind it, but if that's not you beware.
120K service done and other service with receipts make the potential deal better, but $2K would be my max and only then with receipts and a running car and with no obvious coolant or oil leaks.

Hey, another Winnipegger! I've had about enough of this cold spell.

I would pass on this z32 and wait for early spring or summer. This one will need lots of tlc and work.

There have been a few for sale in the area. Most of the ads are gone, either sold or just not the right time of the year to sell them.

Not a problem, and good choice. I spent two years searching for the right TT for me and it was worth it to have a really solid car to work with rather than one on it's last legs, so to speak. Makes the upgrades really show up, and minimizes the extra hassles finding old, worn out stuff needing work while doing the work you already are doing...and when that day comes it needs major overhaul, it's still a viable option.
