Has anyone done it yet? I know Mr. Wes was asking about it in the 300zx forums, but no one replied, and I havent hearda bout his progress.

The increased vibration transfer doesn't concern you?

What benefit are you looking to get from this piece?

It limits engine movement.. Really i dont think it will transfer more vibrations. it wll be better than the likely crushed transmission mount thats in there now...

Okay, I completely understand replacing an old/worn mount will net improvements, but given your history of vibration issues, I'm surprised to think you'd want anything "firmer" in there.

Wasn't the motor replaced in your current Q by a previous owner at T3? I can't imagine them swapping the motor and not replacing all the mounts?

I wasnt refering to my mount, i was referring to the one in jesda's Q... My Q's transmission mount was changed out about 45k ago (at like 80k and i have nearly 125k now)... Its probably about time to think about another replacement... Another member on this forum is giving me a spare transmission mount for me to try, that is supposed to be "as new"...

Its more important that everything is in line (driveshaft, engine, transmission) and it stays in line. when thats the case, there wont be any vibrations... ... Plus with my high stall converter,i think i have more engine movement than regular Q owners...

Hmm, not really looking for an extreme performance difference from a transmission mount. But just looking for little upgrades here and there. Im already upgrading most supsension bushings with poly/ball bearing arms, subframe spacers etc........ I know that the ride will ultimately be a little more harsh.

Now as for the amount of vibration that i'll get from this mount...not sure. but I'll give it a try.

Cool, I was just asking, as it seems "we" fall into the trap of getting the (insert newest/best material) mount/bushing, when we don't necessarily need it's "benefit".

Fine fine....i'll call SPL today.........anyone in particular I should ask for? I know some of us have purchased from them....

Theres vibration at 1500~3000rpm.....Must change motor mounts too... I was following tanglora's posts, Im not sure if this transmission mount will show me improvment/worsening of vibration. I'll post results anyway, the vibration should get a tad bit better with a fresh block of rubber.

I dont think it matters who you talk to, just be sure to mention NICO..

IMO, the closer you get to the rear of the car, the more effect vibrations have... heres my hierarchial order from most likely to cause vibrations to least...... (doesnt include the actual driveshaft being imbalanced due to the insulation coming out, all bets off)

1. Rear U joint2. Middle U joint3. center bearing4. Front Ujoint/flex disc5. transmission mount6. engine mounts..

However, i always recommend doing things starting with the easy and then going to the hard..... So that means, its best to replace the transmission mount first (easy and cheap parts) then you replace the driveshaft, and then you replace the motor mounts

Hope that made sense because im not really sure it did..

The exhaust hangers bolt to a plate which bolts to the aft end of the transmission mount. There are about 8-10 nuts that have to be loosened or removed to get the assembly out. If you didn't pre-order through Joe you can get them at a dealership for about $25 apiece. You will notice a BIG difference in vibration. Once you look at your compressed transmission mount you'll have a good idea of what your engine mounts probably look like. Engine mounts are on my list of wannado's.

Ordered my exhaust hangers today, with tie rod/steering boots, and a powersteering hose. =)
