Here is a few pictures of what I am looking for only for a z32:

Image

Some fender flares like these that would fit our cars would also suffice

Image

I know this topic was touched on in the past but I know that new parts are made and come to market each and everyday. so I was wondering if anyone has achieved pulling off fender flares or over fenders and where can i get my hands on them.

Thank you in advance for any input you may have, and if this was answered in another thread please direct me to it and I will simply delete this post.

I should also mention I do not want to pay the rediculous price of $640 for the pair that I was able to find at the link I provided below.

someone has to have some info on here about this subject, I'm sure I am not the only one wondering about getting wider in the $200-300 ball park. I will custom fabricate something eventually before I pay the crazy prices they are asking online. BUMP

WTF is with this sudden trend of s*** bumper flares just bolted onto the bodies. They don't even bother trying to cover up the bolts. I've seen this on a bunch of cars now. If you're going to do it, do it right, and make it look good. Not like some hackjob.

I hear you on that. Sometimes they don't look quite right. I happen to like the look, I would however use better hardware for bolting them on. I have 18x8.5 wheels and they stick out in the rear, this is why I am looking to do this modification.

I would say its mostly to do with these types of kits:

http://www.speedhunters.com/2013/11/def ... walk-gt-r/

They guy makes the exact same kit for every car and is being hailed as a genius or something. Its not going to age well, much like Veilside or other extreme visual mods. No benefits to aerodynamics. See also Rocket Bunny kits on Toyota AE86s.

How about getting better sized wheels? if your poking out the back with 8.5 width wheels your doing it wrong. I have a 18x10 and run a 285 width tire without poking past the fender and there are guys running wider yet.

Welcome to the Z32 haha. Sometimes you have to pay to play. :chuckle:

But yes you might want to just find some wheels that fit.

I was wondering how long it would take before people noticed this thread :chuckle:
Styles keep changing with young people and these kinds of...mods? :spitout: ...are becoming more common on the wish list it seems.
OP, for the record we here at NICO tend to be more of what would be called Z32 purists, in that we don't think that the current body mods have any place on our cars for the most part and the ones that do are more tasteful, and fit the original flow and curves of the car rather than detract from it.
My opinion is that if you are only concerned with your wheels sticking out that as suggested you get wheels with the correct offset, which will fix that problem and still allow you to easily fit 10 inch wide wheels and appropriate tires inside the wheel wells, or out to the edges as is the style now. :dblthumb:

I seen pictures where a 300zx can pull off this look with bolt on fender flare, or you can just stretch your fender. I am not a particular fan of these bolt on fender flare, only thinks it looks good on the 72 celica and the 240z, but you could make it work.

Heh, mine came with a Wings West body kit all around. I don't mind the updated look for the front end and sides. The rear doesn't do much for me. At most I might have done the front bumper on my own. http://www.zshop.ca/parts/z32-wings-west-full-kit/

I appreciate the responses guys. I can agree with some of you purist guys, the z32 is one of the most visually appealing vehicles I have ever cared to own. On the other hand, I have 18x8 BBS wheels that would look awesome on my z32 and I don't want to go through the hassle of selling my wheels and getting others. Additionally I would like to have a wider wheel track as I also have 1" hubcentric spacers I would like to use.

Back to the fender flares/over fenders, I think they make the car look more aggressive and I happen to like it. Additionally it will cut down the amount of body work I need to do to the car, as there is some damage from what looks like the previous owner scraping the rear quarter on a street sign.

I apologize in advance if my car offends you now or at a later date. I am 23 years old with two twin boys, I have been modifying cars for 10 years now and I try to stay far from rice and/or tasteless mods.

Also for the record I purchased my BBS wheels for my Infiniti I35 with tein lowering springs and stagg struts and the fitment was perfect. I also have a set of 350z wheels that I will probably use for the z32, but I was wondering what is out there. The flares I did find are from Japan apparently and the price reflects it. Anything in the states?

Also, I wanted to make it a point that this is not whats "cool" or "in" and that is not why I am looking to do this at all. Here is a photo of where I got my inspiration:

I will keep that in mind tomorrow when I'm making calls, I really appreciate the info. I see you have a corrado, I used to be into VWs as a teen. I had a VR swapped cabrio with a jetta front amongst others. I want to see that corrado though.

Just a personal perspective: Over fenders are a nice look on a Jeep.

I agree with you RubyRed300zx, they look great on trucks, jeeps, and SUVs. I am continuing my search for a decent priced and visually pleasing (to me) fender flares or over fenders. I have found little to no results for the 2+2 except what has been previously stated. I am at a point where I may just splurge and buy the ones previous mentioned for myself for christmas. One of my friends on instagram @pakmanz said he is going to try and fabricate some himself, so I am kind of waiting on the outcome of that but I dont want to wait forever. Anyone with info on products not mentioned here please, send it my way.

So I have decided to go with ZG flares. They are a company based out of california. They are made for the s13 and 240z-280z. I called them up and spoke to Matt and he was able to confirm that the rear will fit with no modification. I was only looking to do the rear.

Here is the link to their web page vvvv

I know this look come from TRUE japanese JDM drift style…where looks don't matter and function rules…oh i needed wider rear fenders cause I'm running a 300mm tire…so why wouldnt i just put it there…oh i need more down force…ill just bolt this wing on there…from what i understand the underworld drift scene is all about function over form…it works why does it need to look pretty…now I'm from the world of clean lol…i would want all welds/rivits/bolts covered and molded that seams to be more us/aus/eur train of thought. i mean thats what I've gathered from numerous videos and MCM kei to the city feature film...

What offset are you running and how close to the fender is the outside of the wheel?

I was thinking the same thing. I run 19X10 with no issues at all. :wtf2:

For a lot of enthusiasts, Honda's S2000 would already be a good enough canyon carver . But good enough isn't good enough for S2KI members. That why this baby is going ballistic. Watch the way this build comes together.
