First off Hello all!

I have a 94' N/A 300zx manual. It has been running fine had a fuel leak a while back in the Fuel pressure Regulator but I got that all patched up and its been running great since then. I live in Utah and its now cold outside and I've recently found a rather nasty fuel leak in the worst place ever. Its on the "Hose from Hell" in front of the plenum and under the throttle cables. (sorry if I don't quite know what I'm talking about but I try lol) Unfortunately the screw clamp is positioned in such a way that I CANNOT tighten it with out having to get the throttle bar thingy outta the way, I think its called the throttle linkage? Here is my question. Is there a way to remove just the linage so I can tighten that hose clamp or do I have to remove the Throttle Bodies as well? Or worse yet the whole plenum?

Here is picture to help you guys out in case I have no idea what I am talking about. Also this is not my picture so credit to whoever it belongs to. All I did was add colored boxes to it.

So what I'm basically asking is can I just remove what is boxed in green? Or do I have to also remove what is in red, or possibly *gulp* the whole plenum. And however I can go about doing any of those how do I go about doing said task? Any help is super SUPER appreciated!

Ah, the fuel line that connects the fuel rail. Unfortunately, no, the throttle bodies have to come off with the green section. I would would suggest pulling the plenum and doing the water bypass so you get rid of all the water lines under the plenum. If the fuel line has leaked, I'm sure the water lines are not far behind. I actually think that is the only way to get he whole section off is to take the plenum off, you have a few bolts the timing covers block.

You could get real lucky and maybe one of the clamps have loosened enough to cause a leak. Cold weather does that sometime, you should be able to get in there with a screwdriver and tighten it up.

I do know that it is just the hose clamp that is lose. I tried really hard to spin it around so that I can try and tighten it but it has not worked out so far. So I have to pull the plenum to get to that hose? Seems like a horrible design if you ask me. I have no way of pulling the plenum I live in a condo with no garage and very little tools. This bites bad. Ill keep trying I guess. Thanks.

Correct. The rear timing cover interferes with one of the lower bolts holding the throttle linkage to the plenum.

Have you tried just removing the plastic throttle cover (the piece that says "Nissan V6 3000") to get better access? Its held on with 4 6mm? hex bolts. Any allen key set should be able to get it off. With that out of the way you have a much better chance of getting to the clamp. I wouldn't bother trying to remove the plenum if you have limited tools, its a PITA the first time even with tools.

This is good info to know, all the time I have been in that area, I never thought you would be able to get to it.

OP, glad you fixed the issue!! :dblthumb:
