i attempted to install my Z32 MAFS tonite with minimal results. i followed this diagram:

but couldnt get the car running. with the illistration the way it is i assume that you only have 3 wires connected, the positive 12v, ground and output signal. i connected the blue with white stripe (position 2) wire to the existing black with white stripe wire. then the wire in position 3 (black with white stripe) i connected to the ground (all black) on the pre-existing wire loom. i was unsure of which of the remaining green wires to attach the position 5 wire to so i tried both. on one the car would not even start, the other it started up as if the mafs wasnt there at all (would idle but stumble and die if i gave any throttle). i also experimented with grounding wire #4 on the Z32 plug to a seperate ground but that didnt make a difference. so i sodered back on my old MAFS and now the car idles like crap, but drives normally, but coming of throttle especially off boost makes it stumble.... grrr any ideas? i really want to get this thing installed.also i did adjust the S-AFC to 1 in 1 out with a 2 in/add calibration and remembered to take it off when i put back on the stock one.

You might check out twinturbo.net for more info. I am trying to get my dual intake/ MAF setup working myself, and am wondering why you are only using 3 wires? The wires necessary to get my second MAF working and integrated into my AFC are (don't know the pinouts ROH): +12V power, Ground (to complete power circuit), signal +, and signal ground. Also, you should be using shielded cable to connect the signal+ and signal ground wires to the ECU. The shielding needs to be grounded to a seperate chassis ground at only one spot (i.e., grounding the shield more than once creates a ground loop, which if you've ever heard a car stereo w/ a similar problem, can distort the signal dramatically). HTH, again I would search on tt.net for more indepth info.

im using the wires from the Z32 plug connected directly to the factory CA18DET wiring harness, connected by twisting then sodering. could anyone who has done this mod tell me exactly which color wires on the Z32 you connected to which color wires on the factory harness... or even if someone could tell me what the two different green wires on the ca18det are for.
