Hey guys I need some help diagnosing my problem.

I just installed a Z32 MAF on my 91 S13 Blacktop. It when on very easy. The wires do not need to be cut regaurdless what the people that sell these MAFs say. All you have to do is get a 1mm allen wrench and us it to pop the pin out of the maf harness and pop them in the z32 harness. Anyhow here is what I did:(this is looking at the Z32 MAF)First try: A -------- Not Used B -------- Black/White 12v power C -------- Black wire ground \____connected them together D -------- Black wire ground / E -------- White ecu signal WRONG SETUP F -------- Not Used

With this setup the car stated and ran but idled very very lumpy between 500 - 1100 rpm.

Second try: A -------- Not Used ----\ B -------- White ecu signal -----\ C -------- Ground to chassis ------\ D -------- Black wire ground -----WRONG SETUP E -------- Black/White 12v power ------/ F -------- Not Used ------/

With this setup the car started but then quit and would not run at all.I pulled voltage from the B and E wires while the car was in the on possition due to the fact that it wont run. Here are the voltages: B ----- 0.44v E ----- 11.85v

I believe that teh second try is the correct wiring but I cannot confirm this cause my car is not running .....

Anyhow, I did replace my O2 sensor and my plugs and my ECU is a Blitz Access tune that is supposed to be tuned for Z32 MAF, 550cc injectors, intake exahust, and upgraded turbo T28 or GT2530.

What am I doing wrong here?Is my MAF bad?

I can't install my stock sr maf cause I tore the housing apart for the stock mounting peice (works great by the way) here are some pics:

Here is the reason why I can't go back to my stock SR MAF. I took the mounting ring out:

Do you guys think that I could have fried the MAF by hooking up the wires backwards the first time?

What have you done so far to test it?

I just pulled the Z32 MAF plug out and tried to start it. It started and ran normally, no safe mode or anything. Then I plug the Z32 MAF back in and it dies. Does this mean that my Z32 MAF is bad or did I fry a portion of my computer?

Also the voltage running from the B wire (white) is 1.38v while running just before it dies.

Im not 100% positive about this but not sure if thats a Z32 MAFS. I think the Z32 MAFS has a orange label. I may be wrong, but pretty sure that they have an orange label.

I'm not running any sort of fuel management such as SAFC or anything cause I was told the ecu was already programed for it.

A - openB - power (SR black/white)C - Ground (SR black to the ECU. do not ground to chassis)D - open (no need for this wire. pull it out of the connector. does NOT need to ground to chassis.)E - MAF signal (SR white)F - open

See the difference?

Ok I tried that but did not see a difference. I did find out however that the proper wire sequence is :

A - Not usedB - 12v White wireC - Black ECU groundD - Ground to chassisE - 0-5v ECU signal Black/White wireF - Not used

With SAFC II settings at:

in out2 7

Ran like crap for the first few feet but I guess that was stuff built up on the plugs from running it hooked up wrong. After it blew out it ran fine, idles great and I also hooked up my Apexi power meter and its reading between 290-300ps at max trottle @ 6000rpm.

Pretty cool with stock internals and stock turbo!!

Thanks for all your help guys....!!!!

Eric
