I have a s13 and I recently got my Z32 differential and the output flanges arent going to work with my s13 axels b/c of the bolt pattern. My question is, what are my options as far as getting it to work on my car? I know I could get output flanges from a 240sx with LSD from a dealership, but theyre like $150 each so I'd rather not go that route. Would I be able to use 300zx axles in my car since they would bolt right up to the differential? If not, what about J30 axels, I think the have the same bolt pattern as the 300zx output flanges, anybody know or have any ideas/suggestions feel free to let me know? :help

Your options: 1( and what I am going to do) Get s14 output flanges, probably the most cost effective and less strenous work way. Sometimes you can get them from a salvage yard. If not, I have a website that has 'em cheaper than 150 each.2) get the J30 axles because they have the same bolt pattern, but they're a pain in the *** really, unless you like that kinda thing. ALso, they're the same price as the shafts. : (3) I'm not sure about the 300zx axles, but again, same issue as the J30.

Hope it helps.

Rumor has it that you can grind one of your output shafts(the longer one) from the open differential, and they'll work with your vlsd, but that's about all I know on that subject.

Or you can grab some 5 bolt j30 axles.. They'll work.

Or you can use 240sx and 300zx axles.. and do something like this: http://www.gbauto.net/crzycav86/axle_swap.htm.. I haven't installed these yet because I'm still waiting for other parts.. but it works.

So I can get output flanges from any year s14 and they'll work, even the ones with an open differential will work? You have the link to that website to get the output flanges? Also, what year were the 5 bolt j30 axles in?

crzycav86, thats a good idea, if I had some 300zx axles laying around I would probably look into that.

Is there any prep work or anything I can do to the differential while its still sitting out of the car?

I'm in the same hole as you, decided what the hell, and went to the dealer ship to order the output flanges. To make sure the idiots who work there don't mess up on my order, I printed the part numbers and images of how they are suppose to look like from Zilvia.net's website. Costed me $358.83 for both, got one (the shorter one), the longer one is on backorder with no delivery date. It's been 3 weeks now and I'm calling them tomorrow... damn I hate dealerships.

i had this rear in my 95 for about 150 miles. the new Nismo ring and pinion spaced the outputshaft too far out on one side and it leaked oil. l replaced the carrier with a Nismo lsd. the Nismo unit uses the output shafts from the original open rear that the car came with .so yes it fits on the 95. i have 2 95 j30 rears for my car one with the stock Infiniti gearing and the other with 4.63. the output shafts have 3 groups of 2 bolt holes. 150 total would be fine i would ship ups ground.
