I have a 1990 300zx na with 130k miles on it. I recently broke the shaft on my water pump and replaced it and instead of putting the fan clutch on I installed the z1 duel electric cooling fans and wired them into the ignition switch to get power when the key is in the on position. Recently when I get to 3k or 2500 rpm it acts like it is hitting a rev limiter and stalls on me and wouldn't start. I re-wired my fans to another wire thinking that the wire I spliced into was the wire for the fuel pump thinking the fuel pump wasn't getting full voltage, and the car in neutral would rev to 6k no problem unlike before when it would rev to 2500 and stall. I test drove it and now around 3-4k it acts like a rev limiter and bounces around that area but doesn't stall. I have run out of ideas on what it could be, it doesn't sound like a fuel pump to me but I could be wrong. Any ideas?

Remove everything that you installed that is not OEM and try again, seems like you may have caused a dead short somewhere.
