Hey Guys!

So this week my car had a "Cranks, but no start" problem. I changed out spark plugs and checked for codes and was running all over looking for problems and finally my buddy asked me "Do you have fuel pressure?". I immediately face-palmed myself  and ran to borrow a Fuel Pressure Tester from work. Turns out, I had a Fuel Pressure reading of zero...

So I went ahead and started checking all the wires and relays and fuses, when I came across some articles about how finicky the stock Fuel Pressure Control Unit (FPCU) is. So I went ahead and jumped power and ground to my Fuel pump to make sure that the pump itself was not the problem. My Fuel pressure reading immediately jumped up to 50psi! At this point, I did not even bother to check any other wiring, the FPCU must be the problem.

I am setting this car up for E85, so this is not really a big deal. I'm planning to upgrade the fuel pump and get an aftermarket Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR). I'm going to wire the Fuel pump to run near max anytime the car is running, and just let the FPR run the excess back to the fuel tank.

I was wondering what some suggestions for aftermarket brands of fuel pumps and FPR's are? Keeping in mind that I may need to run up to 1.5 or more times the stock fuel pressure to run E85.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Contacted the company I ordered from. The order was placed, but it was not shipped yet, so I'm hoping they will allow me to swap out the 2 pumps without charging me any fees.

For some reason (mostly neglect of proper research), I thought that the factory fuel pump only flowed 200-230 LPH, When it actually flows 270! The AEM Pump I ordered flows 320... Which is better... But not as good as the Walbro that flows 400LPH (They Claim 450, but car specific for the Z they admit to 400).

Seeing as I am running an E85 setup, and I will be doing a vh45 swap later this year, I would prefer a pump that flows WAY more than my engine can use. That way when I put my E85 tune in, I still have some room to play upwards, and when I do my vh swap I plan on re-using the pump, and keeping the car on E85. So I will need more flow for the v8 AND E85 on top of it. I think even with 400LPH I will be running the pump pretty hard on an E85 tuned vh45... We'll see what happens.
