z32 fuel filter install

Heres my tired old filter. I bough the car last fall, so im changing the filter.

I released the fuel pressure by yanking the fuel pump fuse and crankin the car.

no more hp (unless your old filter was horribly clogged), but the Z32 FF will last longer, and do a better job at filtering, since there's nearly 2x more surface area in the filter.

After I changed mine for the Z32, it idled a little smoother, I think my old filter was nasty.

The nissan dealer i go through doesnt stock them anymore, I had to have them special order original Z32 filters, they "retro-fitted" the smaller crappier KA filters for the Z32's, so if you have nissan change your 300zx's fuel filter, than you will not get what you paid for... Stupid idea IMO.

Is everyones nissan dealer doing this now?

my dealer, performance nissan in duarte, ca, still stocks them. they charge $8.40 ea, iirc.

while I was posting this nico went down, but heres the Oe filter box part # 16400-q0805. My local dealer also didnt have these in stock but they got it in no time for me and charged me 12$

twisting the fuel lines while you pull on them and they come off alot easier. the installed fuel filter.

That was a nice writeup. I think we need a lot more of these DIY writeups so we can have a whole DIY section on Nico.
