You don't have to but you will benefit in the sense that you will get rid of that spongey feeling due to the larger pistons.

If you do decide to swap your master cylinder most people get theres from 300zx's (1" and 1 1/16"). If anyone is interested in doing this swap as well (many have and said it is extremely beneficiary) shoot me an email and I will send you a write up I did on it.

How do you get past the difference in the line coming out of the master cylinder. Unless you have a 240 w/ABS. I don't see how it would work. The Z has one line for the front and one for the back. The lines run to the passengerside rear of the car and go into the ABS actuator where they are then split into FL, FR, RL, RR. The non ABS 240's have a FL and FR line and then a single rear line. I have a 300zx master cylnder that I'd love to use. What if you took out the internals of the Z and put them in your 240 master cylnder?

Not sure, but 30mm calipers fit under S14 stock wheels?

They fit under mine ;)

Thanks for the compliments on my 300ZX brake swap write-up. I'm finishing up some research on part numbers regarding the difference between MC's calipers (front and rear) and a list of hardware. Plus, i'm waiting patiently for projectsilvia to get their shtick together and get their e-brake lines released.

Also, regarding the MC, it isn't necessary to make it work....but necessary to make it great!

I just pulled the MC out of my other (wrecked) 240 and I'll start cutting on it tonight and get the female flare into my Z MC. I'm doing the 5 lug swap at the same time so I can use the Z wheels, so I'm still trying to find the front spindles. I'm also going to go with the SS lines, drill&slotted rotors, pads from KVR, and rebuild the MC and Calipers. I prob won't be done till the end of this month, but I've got everything together.

i heard the 300zx rim will touch the coilovers so you may need a spacer

you mean the strut setup? thats on the 240? If so I believe you. It's pretty close with the 205's that are on there right now. I figured I was going to have to use spacers. What about the rear? It looks like there is a lot more room back there.
