It's not as good as it sounds, but it's damn near that. I got some inside info about a perfect part car 300zx for $400. No engine, no transmission. Body is almost perfect, no hood, smashed driver side headlight, and the front bumper needs repainted. The interior is in peices inside the car and there is a humongous hole cut in the firewall. (like 2' by 3') But the LSD is still there, (I've already got one) and the best part. The brake system hasn't been touched, neither have the spindles, and the stock wheels are still there too. HELL YEA!!! I'm ready for a FULL 300zx brake upgrade and a 5 lug conversion, how about you? I figure that I can not only get my moneys worth out of it in parts, but I can probabally make some dough too. There's gotta be people looking for straight Z body panels, right? I do have a question though, is there any way that the Z seats will fit in my car? That would be an awsome upgrade! Anyway, no purpose to this thread, I just knew you guys would be more excited about it than my girlfriend was. :rolleyes

If the seats are leather and in good condition I'll buy them if you don't end up using them.

My girlfriend was just like, "Oh, thats nice". They just don't understand.... But things got even better today. I told the guy that I could give him $350 in cash today, otherwise, I'd have to wait until next week. (that was bull****, but I'm all about saving money) He told me that if I could give him $375, that would be cool. So I ofcourse told him that would work. Hehehe, I love to haggle. Anyway, the seats aren't leather, but they don't look to be in too bad of shape. Nothing a little cleaning won't take care of anyway, No tears. I guess they were going to put a small block chevy motor in it and make it a drag car, so thats why the gigantic hole is in the firewall. Too bad that they trashed such a nice car. Also, has anyone heard of a rebuild kit for these brakes? How the heck do you hone the cylnders? Anyway, I'll keep you all updated. I should have it at about 6pm tonight, so I'll take pics and post them.

awsome deal, you shouldnt have a problem making some money off it. hell just selling the lsd will almost make back your money

honing cylinders is for the engine during a rebuild.

Well I've got the car in my possesion. I've already pulled the wheels, front brake calipers, disks, and the master cylnder. I'm going to pull the stuff off of the rear here in a second. And when I was talking about honing, I was talking about the caliper. When you rebuild a caliper, you usually hone the brake cylnder. But I got it figured out. the caliper come apart into 2 peices. I don't know if these are the 26 or the 30 in calipers, but they are the aluminium, so I don't really care. This is great, I feel like a 9yr old at Christmas!

I'm going to find out about the seats tommorrow. I ran out of daylight and didn't have the chance. They do look like REALLY nice seats. They are like EVERYTHING adjustable. I think I'm going to brave the 5 lug conversion so I can use the wheels off of it and also see if I can get the 4 wheel brake conversion to work right. I heard that the rears lock up first with the stock mastercylnder. Obviously I've got the Z's mastercylnder, so I'm going to rebuild it and see if I can get it to work. It also looks like I'm going to have to get new struts for the rear if I do the rear brakes, so I'm gonna have to wait a bit till I get the dough for all of this together. I need this semester to get over so I can start makin some real money!

Good Find Ryan. 5lug conversion, Zbrake upgrade and Z wheels. If the Z is an NA 90 the calipers are 26mm. If it is tt it obvioulsly is 30mm. If it is 91 or up regardless NA or TT it will be 30mm.

By the way the with Z brakes upfront and stock MC the rears don't lock up first. My pads I believe are project Mu judging from the color of them but I just call them mystery brake pads.

I'm doing the brake upgrade on all 4 wheels and the article I read in SCC said that they were having problems with that. I have the Z MC and I was going to try and make it work. But if you have all 4 on your car and it doesn't lock them up, then I'll forget trying to make the Z MC work. It is a 90 NA, but it's a 2+2, do you think that will make a difference? It's probabally the 26mm, but I don't car, I've got a base model coupe with no options, so I think I'm still going to have plenty of stopping power. Also, if anyone is looking for an LSD I'm selling the one that's in the Z. I've got one already installed on my 240 so this is an extra. email me if you're interested.

THEY SALE THE REBUILD KITS AT NISSAN, I THINK I SPENT AROUND $40.00 ON BOTH OF THEM. THEY WILL COME WITH ALL THE O-RINGS AND GASKETS THAT YOU NEED. I GOT A FRIEND THAT CAN SHOW YOU HOW TO HONE THE CYLS., HE DID THEM FOR ME ON MY SWAP. I ALSO HAVE A PLACE HERE IN TOPEKA THAT YOU CAN GET THEM POWDER COATED FOR CHEAP IF YOU WANT.

Thanks Kory! Do you have all 4 swapped onto your car? If so do you have any probs with the braking? I'll give you a call about the powdercoating, I'll need it. I'm going to rebuild the calipers myself, I've got a hone and everything so I'm not worried about that. Also, if you see any S14 with the spindles, I need them for the 5 lug swap

I DID SWAP THE FRONT AND BACK BREAKS WITH THE 300ZX. I ONLY HAD 2 MAIN PROBLEMS WITH THE SWAP, ONE OF COURSE BEING THAT YOU NEED TO GET CUSTOM LINES. YOU CAN EATHER GET THEM OFF LINE FROM http://www.pdm-racing.com, OR I HAD SOME MADE FROM FLU-CON HERE IN TOWN. I'M NOT SURE OF THE QUALITY DIFFERANCE SINCE I'VE NEVER SEEN THE LINES FROM PDM. I KNOW THAT THE ONES I HAVE I HAD TO RIG UP ON THE FRONT BRAKES SO THAT THEY WOULDN'T RUB ON ANYTHING, BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T ATTACH TO THE STRUT LIKE THE OEM LINES DO. I'M ASSUMING PRICE HERE IN TOWN WOULD BE A LITTLE CHEAPER, BUT THEY SCREWED UP MY ORDER AND IT TOOK LIKE 3 WEEKS TO GET MY LINES SO THEY GAVE THEM TO ME FOR FREE (SCORE). THE OTHER PROBLEM IS THAT THE 240 E-BRAKE LINE WILL NOT CONNECT TO THE 300 E-BRAKE SETUP. THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT STYLES OF E-BRAKES, AND THE 300ZX FACTORY LINES WILL OBVIOUSLY HOOK IN TO THE REAR BRAKES BUT THEY AREN'T LONG ENOUGH TO HOOK TO THE STOCK LOCATION FOR THE 240(8"-10" SHORT), AND THE MOUNTING BRKTS. AREN'T IN THE RIGHT LOCATIONS. I CAME ACROSS A WEB SITE THAT SAID THAT I CAN USE THE 300 E-BRAKE LINE, BUT I HAVE TO STRECH IT UNDERNEATH THE FLOORBOARD AS APOSSED TO GOING DOWN THE DRIVE SHAFT TUNNEL LIKE ON A FACTORY SETUP. I HAVE YET TO TRY THIS BUT I HOPE IT WORKS, BECAUSE IT DOES SUCK TO HAVE A 5 SPEED WITH NO E-BRAKE AND A TURBO TIMER. YOU HAVE TO SIT THERE ANYWAYS SO YOUR CAR DOESN'T ROLL OFF. I WOULD SUGGEST TAKING THE TIME AND SWAPIING OUT THE BACKING PLATE AS WELL. ON THE REAR IT WON'T BE A BIG PRBLEM SINCE YOU HAVE TO PULL IT ALL APART TO GET THE E-BRAKE SETUP, BUT ON THE FRONT YOU HAVE TO PULL IT APART A LITTLE BIT MORE TO GET THEM. I DIDN'T DO THE FRONT BACKING PLATES YET, WE JUST CUT THEM TO ACCOMEDATE THE SIZE OF THE 300 ROTORS, BUT THE STILL RUB AT TIMES.

Thanks for the info Kory. I've got pretty much everything stripped off the the Z. I still have to get the rear assembly off. I'm haveing problems getting the input shaftbolt off on the drivers side. It's pretty rusted. Also, the ball joints on both sides are pretty rusted too. I'm going to go get some penetrating oil tommorrow after work and soak them real good everyday this week. Hopefull by next weekend they'll come right off. and now I see what you mean about the ebrake cable. My Z is a 2+2, so I'm thinking it might be a little longer, but it still doesn't look long enough. I may weld a mounting bracket to the rearsubframe. But we'll see when I get there. Things are on hold till school is out. 3 more weeks! Also, are all the Z's rear spindles made of aluminium? I wonder if they are lighter than the stock rear spindle? I'm probabally going to get the lines and rotors from heavythrottle and the pads and the russell speedbleeders from pdm. Now I just have to wait till school is out.....
