Z32 ENGINE SWAP

I HAVE AN 06 1.8S SENTRA. AND HAVE BEEN CONSIDERING PUTTING A Z32 ENGINE IN IT... IS IT POSSIBLE AND IS IT WORTH IT????

nothing is impossible. but is it unrealistic? definitely.

if you do this, you would have to do lots of cutting and welding to the body and lots of fabrication with the driveline. and talk about tons of reinforcement.

definitely not worth the trouble. and in good ol' california, you wont pass smog.

well..im no sentra expert, but a front wheel drive platform is a place to start. and a front wheel drive nissan motor will make it simpler i guess....

iono...maybe if you put a maxima or altima VQ in your car? but theres no point in modifying a new car...shoulda just got an SE-R.

typically people who actually do the swap look into the SR20det. as i told someone else here a few weeks ago, since nissan doesnt make the SR20 engine anymore, your going to be swapping in an engine that could be possibly 10 years old or more. The VQ swap is the latest development in engine swaps for our cars, accoding to the guy that does it, it will cost ~5-6k. keep in mind, Nissans are not Honda's. its not so easy to swap engines for us. with Hondas usually all you have to do is drop in the engine and get the wire harness and bolt in. not so with nissans.

The SR doesn't have to be 10 years old. Variants of the VE and DET have been in use far more recently than that.

However, there's a growing VQ swap community. It's not what I'd do with a 1.8 Sentra, but it's interesting nonetheless. IMO, if you're really wanting a project, you've got the wrong car to begin with.

your right it doesnt but unless you know exactly what car/year it came from it can be up to 10 years old. i know the last application in the states was 2001.
