hey guys-

chased a V8 M5 to 140mph on friday, almost kept up. want to do it again. need better footwork as it the big Q washes out on traction when cornering at 130+

Do the top hats of a Z32 and bottom mounts of a Z32 work with a Q45 g50? as long as the top and bottom bolt up (or theres a combination of parts that bolt up from nissan bin or aftermarket coilover bin, i can make myself some coilovers.

I know that the tension rods and upper control links are compatible- already have those in my car.

please advice

was looking up tokico blues online hoping that G50 was front same as z32 and rear same as s13 but i am sad. no dice.also are the rear uprights changable? i guess i will be going to Z32 brakes all 4 corners-

IS Z32 rear suspension fork style? im guessing it isIS Q45 rear suspension fork style or S13/14/r32/33/FC3S eylet style?

is Q45 front suspension bolt or sleeve or mac strut style (s13)what is Z32?

does anyone know compatibility of the top hats? I can order any aftermarket coilover part to fit any nissan, if i can find out compatibility of the Q, perhaps i can build a fully compatible Coilover setup with damper rate and spring/helper to suit the Q best for whatever application needed

h

There's athread by midnightsliding in which he mentions using Z32 coilovers on the front (not sure about the rear). IIRC, he had to enlargen the upper mount bolt holes, but that was it.

Also, keep ni mind that even at the highest setting, the G50 will be super-low on Z32 coilovers.

It's been done, and without too much total fabrication.

You have to use your stock upper mounts for the rears. On the front you also have to enlarge the bottom eyebolt mount on the coilover, the Z32 is smaller than the Q.

Rear:

Front:

Hope this helps.

Wow! Those fronts are WAY too short!

I wonder how much total strut travel you get with those adjusted to the max position?

Maybe a big aluminum block at the top like those wheel spacers would work. You could bolt the Z32 strut to the block, then put a couple studs in the block to bolt to the Q strut towers. You could turn the bolts 90 degrees from one another.

Z32 camber plates would help make them "taller", and I'm guessing those are adjusted all the way down??

This confirms for me, that I will not try using a pair of Tein Z32 coilovers (fronts only) I've found for sale. If anyone is interested, email me and I'll connect you with the seller.

This is good info, thanks for adding it. Can you tell me if you tried this on a 90-93 or a 94-96? I ask, because the lower mounting point is different (by 2 or 3 mm) between them.

im using z32 front and rear. for the front all i did was bore the holes where the top hats bolts to the car strut tower. the rear i made a plate to accept the z32 coil overs top hat to the Q45s mounting locations

There's still plenty of travel. Its lowered using the bottom perch (Threaded body). The spring is hardly compressed.

They're on a 94' Q45.

any thoughts on the Tein Coilovers for use on the Q...

also..

How long will the coilovers last before needing to be replaced? I know the struts on the q last for like 2 years or so...

Really depends on the roads you drive on and how you drive.

Glass table tops and like granny, a long time.

South Alabama wash board dirt roads, and like Bo Duke, less than a week.

I have a line on a set of Tein fronts only off a low KM TT clip for $250 + shipping if anyone is interested.
