Just wanted to see what the typical common coilover setup you guys run.

I know of KTS (splparts.com)and Megan racing makes a kit.As well as a few Tein kits on ebay (i only seem to see the SuperStreet and Flex coilover series).

Any other options? I guess looking for Z32 stuff seems to be spread all over the internet..

also, are there any other good forums strictly on the 300zx or z32?? Ive seen sites simular to this and the Z32 community on the forums doesnt seem to be very active. twinturbo.net is pretty intimidating to look at and i dont like thier forum software.

SPLparts.com or Powertrix.com

Two best suspension guys that I know of for the Z32.

When I buy coilovers at the end of the summer, I will be going with the Stance GR+ coilovers. I have heard a lot of good things about Stance, and they aren't that expensive. I will also be going with SPL front and rear camber arms.

hmmm who retails the stance coilovers? Im an ex 240sx guy and always had teins on my s13... but im open to check out others. I did have my eye on the KTS for my s13, but i recall alot of talk about the KTS and powertrix being the same.

I'm personally going with Tein... mostly because the EDFC system is awesome.

agreed... EDFC is pretty amazing.

i would say its easily in my top 5 most wanted modifications when i get my car. the pricing of the coilovers themselves is what kills me.

Eh, I have heard a few bad things about the SS and Flex coilovers, which I believe is all Tein makes for the Z. The EDFC is nice, but its really not that hard to change the dampening manually.

http://www.tougefactory.com sells Stance coilovers.

They do, but not any for the Z32. The SS and Flex are the only ones I have seen offered on the Z32, and those are bottom of the line Tein's.

Even entry level ones aren't bad by any means. And for what its worth, they used to offer a larger variety of coilovers for the Z32. RA's, RS's, HA's, etc

Heh, I see you're on here now huh, lol. No need to leave Zilvia for info haha.Anyways, I'm running Stance GR+ coils on my car. I love them. Could be a bit stiffer. They lower the car a good amount too. I'm tucking tires all around. There's also KTS and if you wanna spend more money, there's Zeal.

Oh yeah, there's http://www.300zxclub.com. The layout isnt like the tt.net site and has a load of good info. It also has a bunch of people from tt.net that regularly link over to the tt.net articles and such for info. That's the Z forum I'm mostly on due to lack of activity here and my hate for the tt.net layout, lol

Held up pretty decent at the track, but like I said, they could be stiffer. 8/6 rates are what 240s run, lol.

^ we have a Z forum here with lots of knowledge and good members. What need is there to promote other forums?

I try to avoid those other forums... many aren't friendly there, especially if you like doing stuff differently... I think a few hate me over there.

I didn't say NICO didn't. But there's nothing wrong with letting people know that there is also knowledge elsewhere and a Z specific forum rather an a Z specific subsection of NICO. I mean, I frequent 300zxClub more than here since it's an actual forum than a subsection, but I'm starting to come back here to see what's going on and how I can be of help to people.

Not only that, but the OP asked for different forums to look into. So my post was also helping him out. With regards to other forums not accepting things because they are different, big deal. My ride height is something not normally accepted and neither is some of my styling on the Z, but seriously, it's the internet and a forum. Everyone has their opinions. Just don't take it to heart, lol.

is yours a 2+2 or does it just just look longer because of how low it is?

Its not that... when I brought something to their attention about differential swapping and gave them an option different from the standard N.A. diff. swap that has been faster in other cars, they completely shoot it down. The particular ones I had trouble with won't look past the norm, which is kind of pathetic. I'm trying to help make their cars faster but they apparently don't want to give something different a try so I guess in the end, I'll just be faster than them.

So... yeah, coilovers. I wonder if the EDFC could be altered to work with other coilovers... anyone ever see anyone try that?

OH well, their loss. Some people just choose not to accept change.

Yes, my car is a 2+2.

I bought my Z32 with Powertrix gear on all four corners. Tighten it up and it feels like the car is on rails. Loose numbers let me take speed bumps without ocming to a complete stop. I really like how they feel tight, most of my friends like em, and they loosen up enough to keep the girls from complaining too much about their back
