I also read about this in another thread. The idea is that the stock upper strut mount have holes too small for the Z32 strut to go through.....

but what about aftermarket units that have its own pillow ball strut top mount? The holes on the body end is identical between the Z32 and the G50 I would assume?

And then there's the bottom mount - some say an L bracket is needed to fit the lower part but whaaaa? Where? Anyone got an image of the Z32 strut bottom mount fitted to the Q uprights? :wtf2:

Looking at K-sport Rally spec susp coz I want massive amount of travel:

Image is showing another coil over but whatever the idea is that these puppies will let me adjust from stock height to dropping 3" while maintaining all the travel in the world - exactly what I want. :naughty:

Most images of Z32 coil overs on the internet show the struts and shocks having mounts similar to this:

Which to the naked eye it looks just like how these things are mounted from factory? :gotme

From what I looked at on Ksports website they dont sell any of their rally coilovers for the Z32.
I believe this is our only option through Ksport
CNS250-KP Nissan 300zx 1990-1996 Kontrol Pro Damper System $1450 $1087.5
Ksport is local for me and I know the shops here can request whatever spring rate you want.

Also for 90-93 Q's you dont need to change the bottom mount of the front coilovers. 94-96 you will need to either drill the bottom mount larger or go to a junkyard and get a 3rd link from a 90-94 coilover.
Rear I believe all you have to do is use your existing top mount.

* Forgot most coilovers I've seen the front top mounts dont line up as well theyre a little off from what I've read most people just drill out a bit more.

Check vipstylecars and other threads on this forum for more. :dblthumb:

Thanks, after pricing it out I went with the Megan EZ Street just because I also run Megan on my AE86 with positive results. Some say they are crap for heavier cars but I reckon because the Q has its 3rd link there should be minimal bending or shearing stress on the struts anyway...

The Ksport kit I saw on andysautosport has this part number: CNS25-AR and it retails at Andy's for $1183.

I guess the fun part is to fit the kit up to the car...I wonder how difficult it will be to enlarge a hole on the lower polyurethane bush in the front shock on the Megans....

Ended up using the factory top hat for the rear shock because the Z32 rear shock top hat has a different spacing between the 2 studs.

Also had to take the bottom mount collar for the front upright out to a machine shop and give it a bore to 22.5mm diameter to fit....

Now this is how my car stands.

I love it it looks hella proper. :mike
