I did it back in 05 and be prepared for a b**** of a time. There were a small number of cars that had the correct gauges that would hook up to a 240sx board but there was still an a** load of modifications to make them fit. The 300zx gauges are actually 1/2 inch plus taller. I used the 300zx gauges in a 240sx cluster. Im attaching pics of my test fit. I did the odometer cutout and switched the needles after to all 300zx orange after the fact.

hmn i might do what u did and put the cluster face in the 240...that would probably make my life alot easier...but the reason i wanted to do it though is because the z was already a 6 cylinder maybe the board would have already been readying right for the rb..??? AND IF THAT IS UR RX8 I LOVE U MAN

Trying to get time to do the r33 cluster in my other s13 rb25 right now. The 300zx is a pita to do. Oil pressure works and with it has the odometer cut in now with trip. If I can find another 91 z cluster and the gauges are right I might do a write up. Most of the 300 clusters are not usable due to the gauge mounting on the back. Only that one 91 cluster I found would work on the 240sx circuit board.

The rx8 isnt mine. It belongs to Hinson Motorsports. We did a ls1 swap in it. Pretty fun car now and puts out a lot more than the boosted renisis.

You have to cut a huge amount of material from the 240sx back housing and then use a heat cun to reshape it. I also had to heat and reshape the bezel to clear the oil pressure gauge.
