What the hell are you talking about. These are '93 300ZX Twin Turbo 4-Piston Calipers that I'm putting on my '97 240sx. The factory calipers are single piston, and in addition these rotors much larger. 6 more pistons + more surface area = faster braking.I don't know where the term rice comes into play there, but if you can figure it out, please let me know. I painted them because they were dirty and looked like crap. And seeing as they were off my car, I figured why not!

You're an idiot. I'm not even going to go into the fact that PLENTY of NEW, direct out of the factory calipers are painted. In fact, some of the most advanced brake systems in the world (e.g. Brembo) come straight from the factory painted red or gold. Take a look at EVO VIII's or STi's or Porsches/any other high-end car. Get your info straight before you run around calling people rice. Does my car look ricey to you? Do you see any fart cans, or aluminum spoilers, or spinning hubcaps, or superman hood emblems, or broken/unpainted fiberglass bodykits??? Not to mention the fact that I am in the process of upgrading my KA24DE to a KA-T, and I will be running right around 300rwhp in a 2700lb car. I'd love to hear about your car.

Let's not get personal, some of us are just to overzealous w/ the "anti-rice," whatever that entails. If anyone wants rice, just go check out my car - enough said.

I suppose so, I hate rice just as much as the next person, I even have a page on car domain dedicated to my hatred of it- anyways, just an honest mistake on his part. (i hope)

Bronze calipers look nice, I've seen them on a gold 240 and on a sentra. hella nice.

I'm gonna put a vinyl down each side of my car and some tastefully done neons. Then in my deep dish rims are gonna be spinners (but they'll come off when I go to race) and I'm gonna have the power to back it up! (wait...that negates it being rice! darn!) and another thing...it's gonna be my company car too...shoot...that totally unclasses it as rice....

Maybe just the fact that I'll do that stuff to a silvia will be enough to piss someone off It's not gonna be loud and noticeable ok? just clean and simple.

A vinyl of the companies name, some simple neons, and spinning rims, not hubcaps, oh, and a Sound system, really loud

My Z32 calipers are Brembo gold with black lettering... i agonized over what color to use, but I think the gold was a good choice.

So far, everyone who's seen them agrees.

Those paints on brembo calipers are not your ordinary paint. They use some special coat to spread heat evenly.

Brembo is at the bottom of the barrel when you're talking about "advanced braking system" in the world.

My 30mm z32 brake calipers work fine without paint. I just sprayed some brake cleaner on them and called it a day.Oh yea, I drive a zenki sr20 powered s14 that just gone Kouki and ssr sp1 might be on the way.

From reading your little cardomain page. It seems like you're a newbie when it comes to cars. You have alot to learn.FYI, ASA wheels don't belong on 240sx. nasty offset. They belong on many euro cars such as bmw, audi, vw, etc.

each of their own.

If anyone wants a war, take it on another thread. I'm up to this.

edit: woah.. there's alot of rice in your area. Remember, i'm in west coast, so cal. Rice was cool in 1997. East coast are years behind the car styling. Everything around here is all JDM this, drift that. That bmw isn't that bad, if it didn't have that stupid rear spoiler; it would be perfect.

Good job on the boosted S14 then- I just wanted the calipers to look better than when they arrived covered in brake dust and whatnot. I didn't mean to start a war about painting calipers and rice. If you saw my page, the cars on the rice page are what I would define as blatant rice. Sorry if you still are of the opinion that painting my Z32 calipers makes me a ricer, but as far as my thought about my car and its appearance- painting calipers that I use to upgrade my brake system with does not qualify as rice. Not even going to start on the whole comparison b/t east and west coast- but I think you're right- overall, the west coast has nicer imports, and typically more of them. Anyways- to end on a good note- I'm planning to heading over to Cali towards the end of July, I'd love to see your Kouki

im east coast and teh cars here are def influenced by drifting and "JDM" styling... maybe you should come here, or look at a forum b4 u open ur mouth and call people ricers and stuff like that. Painting your calipers if they're good calipers is a good thing, and I think you're either jealous or just plain mean. They look good, and i wish mine looked that good... mine are red with polished NISSAN... trust me tho... the blue is hot,

OH AND BTW.... Brembos are very nice brakes... they arent project μ... but they're good. And they come anodized... IN TEAL! is that ricer? I dont like you.

EDIT: you can get the calipers painted from Autozone, Pepboys, and your local nissan dealership NEW - just called conicelli nissan

Chill out, guys. There will always be someone around to call something rice, even if you do not believe it is so. All you really need to get through this is some stiff balls and some confidence.

The rest is usually fine (in maoderation) as long as you dont put a giant wing on a FWD car...

^This is one of the most ignorent posts I have ever seen on NICO. Rice is a matter of personal opinion... He wasn't even asking if you liked it or not.. he was showing them off and explaining the process and tools used. Get your fact right first. New calipers are very often painted. And you tell him later that you think he's a car newbie based on his Cardomain page. Painted brake calipers is not rice... It's a subtle cosmetic upgrade. Rice is a triple wing on a chevy cavalier with a 6 inch fartcan out the back. Find something constructive to say or don't say anything.

97ka-t.... Those brakes look fantastic. You really did a nice job painting those. It's really hard to tape off the Nissan letters and paint in between or paint the whole thing and paint the letters over the top. Either way, you did an awesome job! Those will look great on your car.

And hitman... yeah.. your car is total rice!!! I mean what kind of ricer would cut the door pillars off there convertible to make it look smooth and clean like the JDM version... geez.... rice! lol

I Like that 'tut'. It looks GREAT!!

I like things to look good and clean. I am redoing my entire interior and as such I am removing scratches from instrument panel glass/plastic and guess what.. it looks brand spanking new. If that is rice... then I must be a ricer.

Oh no... I am also going to remove curb scratches on my alloy wheels... ricer!!

Impossible to argue with someone who thinks SoCal is the center of the universe for car styling, and Brembo is "bottom of the barrel" (among several other inaccuracies and dumb statements I'll leave alone).

Don't waste your time guys, thread closed.
