my rear caliper f***ed up and i need to replace it. instead of getting just some s13 one from the junk, why dont i just upgrade both in the rear with some nice fat z32 calipers? what modification do i need? and sorry if i didnt see a thread, but i searched cant find anything on stock rotor with the bigger calipers. thanks nico nigs!

Not sure what it takes to use Z32 rear brakes on an S13 but I am sure it would be easier to just use replacement S13 parts. I bet your car is stock and you use it as a daily driver. The S13 has a specific brake bias that calculates how much force is used between the front and rear brakes. With the new Z brakes installed you will probably need to change the bias so this way it doesn't give to much clamping force to the rear. This could cause your rear tires to lock before your front tires. There is a lot to consider hear. Also read up on the science behind braking.

It isn't as simple as adding parts that fit together... they need to work together.

I answered this because it was an unanswered topic so if I am totally off then I appologize. I just wanted to get the ball rolling...

RCA is correct.

There is also the issue of having to install 5 lug to put a Z32 rotor on. You NEED Z32 rotors as they have a spot for your new E-Brake. The S13 uses the rear calipers as the E-Brake. When you upgrade to Z32 you need to incorporate the Z32 drum brake in the rear rotors as your E-Brake.

This is not an easy upgrade and not a number 1 modification.

...sorry to burst the bubble...

you dont HAVE to go 5 lug to use z32 brakes. you simply redrill the rotor or buy some that are redrilled.

op if you do z32 brakes, do both front and rear or just fronts. you dont want bigger brakes in the back than the front! lol
