Need some help here ppls!

I had my 300zx calipers powder coated and in the process I rebuilt them as well (obviously). The question is I got them back together and I got a leak. It seems to be leaking where the two half of the caliper meet. Right where the little o-ring goes. Heres the thing though. The surface that the o-ring sits on was coated as well, so I wire wheeled the coating off until I thought it would be okay. But it's leaking, so im thinking that that surface need to be completely bare metal to get it so seal?

Any advise would be very helpful.

is your caliper alum or iron. probably you must have wired it too much that the o ring is not sitting properly try using a fatter o ring see if that helps...

If all you did was wire wheel off the powder coat just where the o-ring sits than thats most likely what the problem is. The matting surfaces shouldn't have been powder coated. In this situation I would carefully use a fine grit sand paper on a sanding block and sand (maybe even wet sand) off the powder coat on the matting surfaces of each half of the caliper until there is only metal. Then get off what you can where the o-ring sits and see if that works out. If not, you can try a bigger o-ring like the gentleman above suggested but I would definitely get that powder coat off the matting surfaces either way.
