Ok, I don't like my brakes.. they suck

I recently (last 3 months or so) redid all 4 rotors + pads + regreased all the calipers.. For a while it was great, the pedal was nice and firm, the harder I pushed the harder it stopped or locked up.. now I just get lousy mushy pedal / loose pedal feel and I hate it

Sometimes they are good.. then after a little bit of my driving they seem to suck again.. I like my brakes, use them alot.. I'm thinking Z32 front, Z32 mc, stainless steel lines would be good?

I don't know what the problem is with my brakes.. I don't see any leaks anywhere, and don't know if im just abusing the stock setup that much with my driving habits or if something is wrong with the setup..

Should I try flushing all the fluid out and putting new fluid into the system?

People say you can get mushy brakes from installing the Z brakes without the Z master cylinder. So maybe your mushy brake problems are related to your MC.

I dont know if flushing the system will help, but I bet it cant hurt...

Good fluid and brake lines will make a huge difference in pedal feel. A larger mc will also help (but will mess w/ the brake bias).

Oh, and yeah, your pedal will become slightly softer after installing the z32 brakes but since most people install them w/ ss lines and good fluid, they think it's the same or better.

Yep, I had a feeling from what we discussed. That should make a world of difference!

If you keep the brake setup the same a degradation of braking feel is 9/10 due to the brake fluid.

We carry ATE Superblue Brake Fluid, and we have it in stock. We also can include a set of speedbleeders to allow single person brake bleeding.

the stock brakes suck if youplan on modding anything more than the stereo in your car--(i.e.--ANYTHING). The fade is awful, and when you go turbo--swap or bolt on, they are downright dangerous and scary at times. My z32 calipers are not spongy mooshy, or anything other than perfect. They are so far, one of the best mods I have done to the car. Drifting and going fast doesnt mean crap if you can only do it once. Get good brakes so you can haul your car down froma crazy speed time and time again. Autox cant even make my brakes feel like crap--and thats some hard stuff. I go on mountian runs too--and thats probably the hardest thing to do on brakes. But mine stand up---trust me--youll be glad you did it.

a lot of people seem to hate the stock brakes. i got some blanks and decent street pads and its more than i would need on the street. i do get some fade in small technical stuff, so if you wanna autocross its probably worth it. i already dont like the pedal feel so i can only imagine a few more pistons workin the mc. think im gonna try new fluid and lines as well.

Most of the time age, bad fluid, and bad lines are the culprits for the stock brakes being crappy.

Or you can order from who has been a part of this forum for the better part of 2 years, and works for a company that sponsors NICO (SPL PARTS).

We have Technafit brake lines with the correct fittings for $88 per set of 4. We have the Hawk HPS pads which are better than both pads you listed for $74We have the real Brembo slotted rotors (not cut by a machine shop) for $179We got the cans of ATE Superblue for $16

Core in your 240 calipers at Autozone and pick up a set of 90 TT calipers for about $120 - 140.

$497 ... without a GB, for a better braking system.

All our prices are shipped BTW.

hm, okay nismo_freak, you don't have to come out and attack the group buy i posted product for product. "we have hawk hps pads which are better than both pads you listed" "without a gb" yada yada yada. i didn't post to start a riot, i just wanted to offer the group buy to nico members.

I am in the process of setting up a sponsorship for NICO but since i have posted interest i have had nothing but complaints from sponsors such as yourself who are so competitive.

i don't mind that you posted advertising your group deal, but please don't be so childish and go knocking on the products i am offering. my guess is you will either edit or delete this post any ways, but please relax. i am not trying to steal your business, i did not even know you offered many of the similar products. relax for a little okay?
