Ok. I've put everything together. and I think I followed the guide well.

there is the problem I encountered during the installation. the brake rail nut. I had to use a vise grip to turn it loose. and tighten them up. I just basically tighten them up when connecting the brake lines to the brake rail. I didn't use a torque wrench for it.

and, when I bleed the right rear caliper. I had to do it for like 6 - 8 times. and there were still bubble coming out.

and now, I depress the brake padel, the brake has to take at least 3 second to respond and the brake is weak. plus, I hear grinding but not loud from the front right.

please help me. point me a direction...

thanks

what do you mean by brake rail? Hard line? Caliper? If there were still bubbles coming out of the right rear, it was not bled properly. You definitely should not drive this car as is, sounds like somethign is just waiting to fail.

after my install I had to push the brake pedal about 10-20 times to get all the bubbles out. I is not a fast process, just keep pumping the brakes untill ALL the bubbles are gone. I went througha bout a 2 bottles of brake fluid.

also if you didn't tighten down the brake lines to the brake hardline hard enough, air can get in that way too (and leak brake fluid all over your nice new wheels, grrrr)

I had to use a vice grip on a few of my brake hardlines as well. You don't need a torque wrench to tighten them, just make them secure without having to strain to tighten them... if they leak at all, tighten them a little more.

I really suggest you to use a flare nut wrench... its a much much better alternative to a vice grip on brake line nuts... With that tool you can make sure that you are tight.

did you check to make sure that your dust shield is not hitting and grinding up against the rotor?

Yes I had to pump my brakes about 10~20 times on each caliper to get all the bubbles out.

well.. I had cut the shield off.. almost the whole thing. so im sure it's not hitting my caliper.

well. I guess I will have to bleed them again. long process. My car isn't moving.

if I have to replace those hard brake lines.. are they pain in the *** or just some easy installation? thanks

On a scale of 1 to Pain in the ***, I'd rank it one above Pain in the ***. Hey, but that's just me. I hate dealing with hard lines on old cars; they always seem two seconds away from snapping. It's not the end of the world, but it's really annoying stuff to do.

Anyway, to sum up: if you break a hard line you'll need to bend the line to fit and then flare the ends. Google "flare hard line" or "flare tubing" to get an idea if it's something you want to try yourself. You'll need some specialized tools to do it right.

OK, I got the brake system bleed throughly. .brake finally works.

but .. another problem come up.. dammit!

I was having these grinding noise after the z brake conversion.

so, I double checked the rotor and caliper today. the the driver side upper torque member bolt (the bolt holds the caliper in place) is hitting the rotor. I sould say rubbing. and there is already wears on the rotor's surface because of this.

that's is the ony bolt that is rubbing my rotor.. others are fine. and the washers are all in place.

my question is what is it doing it? should i shorten it use a dremel tool? any of you guys experienced this before? is the rotor still useable? the wear area is farther away from the brake pad area. man.. the rotor is brand new.

please help me.. thanks in advance.

Do you have them going in from the wrong side. It's it's the head of the bolt that's rubbing then you have it reversed, it should enter the the caliber from the other side.
