guys, i haven't been able to find a thread that discusses various BMC options for the z32 brake swap. I know the differences in pedal stiffness and pedal travel among the 3 available sizes. From what i've seen, 17/16" is quite popular due to availability and people seem ok with the pedal stiffness (this is said to be changed by using the z32 brake booster). A few say it's actually too crazy stiff.

i'm more interested in pedal modulation difference. Need some words about how easy it is to control the effective braking force, to control threshold braking, avoid lockup, and do heel-toe with stock pedal heights. It's not easy for me to source and play with various BMC sizes from local junkyards, so i'll have to buy it off somewhere and wanna do it right. Thanks for your input.

I really don't have too much input here.I have Z32's, front and rear, on my S14 with a stock BMC.The brakes are very sensitive, and heel-toeing is easy, just as easy as my stock WRX. I actually find it easier when i'm hard on the brakes, because my pedal doesn't travel so much.As far as modulation and threshold braking, i got crap pads in and my car has tires that are about gone, so i haven't even tried it.

The best advice Ive heard is to do the brakes and drive the car. If the pedal is too mushy for you, swap the MC.

I went with the 17/16" MC and I think the feel is real good, I wouldn't consider it "too crazy stiff" by any measure.
