Well, after a long hiatus of upgrading stuff on my Z i finally have a few updates. I've been having to fight with a workers compensation lawsuit since July of 2011 when i had my surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff, torn labarum (cartilage in the shoulder) and bursitis. They're still not fighting to not pay my 50k plus of medical bills my insurance has decided is not covered since it happened at work. Though, this should be finalized in the next month or so. I haven't had much time to work on upgrading the Z with this stuff and college, and I'm also going to be getting a project that means a little more to me.

My grandfather is going to be bringing me his old farm truck that my dad drove till he bought his own car. It's a all original 1958 ford F100 straight body :gapteeth: with the original ford 220 straight 6 with all the original parts except a headlight. I'm planning on a full restore on it before I do anything to the Z other than the up keep to keep it running. I did all the normal tests to see if it was any good mechanically, other than a compression test, which I will be doing when I get it to my house. It has been sitting for about 8 years but its carborated so there's not much there to go wrong. I'm probably going to get it in the next two or three weeks! I know it's not "Z related" but everyone can appreciate a classic truck. I'll have more updates on it as I get it and start the work.

Nice. But don't neglect the Z! :)

Good luck with the law suit.

Oh i don't plan on neglecting my baby. I'm actually ordering a part or two for her tonight. I have to get a new dimmer switch because I still don't have any dash lights when i turn my headlights on. The truck just has a lot of sentimental value to my dad and grandfather, so I'd like to make it nice again and let them be able to see it in good condition again.

Congrats on getting to rebuild the truck! Those old straight 6's in those big a** engine bays are a breeze to work on compared to the Z. Are you keeping the engine or putting a v8 in it?

I'll be keeping the straight 6 as its still good, has good oil in it and isn't locked up. Plan is to keep the truck as original as possible. I'm planning on new glass (has original DANGEROUS plate glass), getting a cedar tail gate made (original is gone), wood grain steering wheel and new carborator (stock is a single barrel holly, I'll either get a two or get the stock on jetted). A little body work from a small amount of rust, dash is perfect somehow so im getting the seat done in the original red/white vinyl and original red exterior. Basically I'm waiting on saving up to give my grandfather gas money to bring it up to me. I'm getting really blessed with this. It even has a title to it if they can find it and I'll be the third owner.
