Z31 Turbo boost issue...

I put a manual boost controller (needle valve) on our 1984 Z31 Turbo. Well, we got the boost from 5psi up to 11psi, but it peaks out there, and then falls back to about 9psi. Could it simply be time to put on a blow off valve? This only happens with the boost set to max. With it set arround 7-8psi it will continually hold the boost level.

i just saw this happen on a z31 theres a pop off device , its a cylender screwed in in the front left corner of the intake manifold. I helped disable to run more boost ...

i put a washer from a ka24de cam bolt in there so the spring rate went up, it holds in excess of 1 bar now haha;)
