hey im removing the old mildew infested carpet from my z31 need some help on how to remove the center console there are no visible screws and I don't want to brake anything. Anyone know the proper procedure? thanks

read instructions.6 screws.3 in the box2 under the name plate1 under the change tray.

And be careful taking the nameplate off, old plastic likes to break...

Three screws inside the compartment and under the 300zx name plate. Be careful as PBA suggested removing the name plate. Many of the plastic interior trim piece fasteners are hidden by small plastic plugs or other types of covers. I think this became common practice in the mid 70's.Good luck!

Thanks guys, info proved to be very useful. I'm pretty new to cars in general so working on them really frustrates me even when it's something as simple as disassembling the interior, but at the same time i really enjoy getting off work and workin on it till dusk. Leaky weather strips are fixed and new carpet is on the way!
