z31 struts up front and maxima shocks in back??

is this correct???if so which year z31 struts and obviously which year maxima shocks in back?do they both have to be stock or some tokico or konis or what?

here is a z31 strut next to a j30 strut. you would have to get the lower piece also that connects the steering with the lower control arm. i just looked at the setup to see but never mounted it since it was my friends that he let me take a look at.

Z31 strut is on the right and J30 is on the left.

im doing so research to see what rear springs i can use on the J30 to lower it also about an inch or so.

to clarify

first image shows the piece on the z31 300zx i am talking about. the strut sits on top of it and is bolted down with 2 19mm bolts.



The J30 does not have it and I dont know exactly if it would work. it seems like it should though.



also now that i thought about it you can tell that the sway bar mounts differently also. on the J30 there is a mount welded on the strut for the front sway bar. on the z31 300zx, the sway bar mounts to the lower control arm. this may or may not be an issue. depends on it you can weld a new mounting tab on the 300zx strut yourself.

as for the shocks, i have yet to look into that also. i am guessing that is what you are talking about. i was going to pull a shock out of my J30 strut and compare it to a friends from a z31 300zx turbo shock. there is a difference in size between the NA and T 300zx.
