z31 revving without pressure on pedal

I was driving home from the store and my car started over-revving. The z31 is revving without placing any pressure on the pedal. In neutral or with the clutch in the car revs to 4K.

Any ideas on possible causes?

The accelerator cable on the throttle body had some of the protective cover come off and stick in the throttle body to have it remain open(like the pedal was depressed). Removed the stray piece and Problem solved.

This, sounds like something is sticking somewhere.
