Car: 84 300zx turbo

Post

Hello,I recently got an 84 300zx turbo. It seemed to run well for a while (several consecutive hours of driving) but before too long it started to stall. This could happen in any gear. The engine starts to sputter slightly and the throttle becomes useless. Usually putting the car in neutral and starting it up again would solve the problem, but now it's worse. I have to fight to keep it alive and the car is definately in not going anywhere. Any help is greatly appreciated.

One of 2 things.Bad contact on your head temp sensor. Check it with an ohm meter at the subharness near your distributor. It should not go open when you slightly pull out on the sub harness. if it does replace the head temp sensor and the subharness.

The other possibility is the MAF. when this occurs unplug the maf and see if it revs up. It will stumble but should still rev to limiter.

The head temp sensor is the more likley culprit here.

Where would I find the sub harness?

on the car or to buy?

It runs from the head temp sensor to the harness near the distributor.

To buy from a dealer, pretty cheap.
