I have an O2 sensor from a Z31, which I'll be using for my KAE-T setup. The reason being that it already threads into the exhaust elbow.

The thing is, I believe the Z31 sensor is heated, as it has three wires. Now I'm no expert, but I believe the red would be power, black to be ground, and white to be the power for heating?

If this is true, I was thinking of splicing the red wire into the stock 240 connector for the O2. Then ground the black wire to the chassis. As for the white wire, I wonder whether to just leave it alone, or splice it into a constant 12-volt source?

Here are some pics of the sensor:

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated,

Pete

Cool, if something goes wrong I'll learn from you. :D

Thing is, someone mentioned that the white wire may be the signal? Making the red one for heating?

Hmm..

do you have a multimeter? If so mesure the resistance between black and red, then the resistance between white and black. one of them should be very low. thats should be the 12v heater wire. the other will be the sensor wire.

In our case I think the sensor wire is the white wire. I have my old sensor around here somwhere so let me know if you need me to figure it out for you.

Good idea.

I just checked, but perhaps my multimeter is messed up.

I read the same resistance from both black-red and black-white.

Maybe the O2 sensor is burnt out?

hmmmm the resistance for the heater should be fairly low 100 - 1000 if I remember correctly. Ill check mine tomorrow. Im 90% sure that the red wire is the 12v heater wire though.

titan, it works finejust splice the old O2 sensor connector onto the white wire.

I just started the car and drove it the 20 miles back to my house. BEAUTIFUL, boosted wonderfully

I love it
