Im installing the turbo as we speak, and I have a few more questions.

what have people done with the O2 sensor and a z31 downpipe?is there a replacement that will work. or is it something that I am going to have to plug up and retap somewhere later in the exhaust system? the z31 O2 sensor is about 1/4 inch smaller than the 240s

which are the throttle body coolan lines exaclty, are they the two hoses that come off in 90 degree bends?

Thankssteve

Steve

If your talking about the VG30 setup than, the Z31 O2 sensor can be used on the 240. if you dont have one you can use the standard 240 O2 sensor in the same hole, it just screws right in. The only differance between the two is that the Z31 sensor is a 3 wire and gets the ECU to closed loop faster.

The coolent lines are the two that are a little bit bigger than the rest. abbout half an inch in diamiter

OH yea if you have the water cooled turbo than the bung might be different. take your DP to advance auto and try a couple of the sensors they have till you find one that works. I know the sensor from my S14 fits right in there

Hmmm I didnt look very closeley when I was at the shop. Maybe they are different. Im using the DP from the non water cooled since it seems to fit the S14 better. Sorry I cant be of more help. I just went over to the parts store and got a new one that fits fine. They all put out the same voltages so as long as it fits it will be fine

I think I can use the one that came with the downpipe and splice into it, because I guess the 3 wire O2 sensors just heat themselves for some reason, so I would think that I would only have to use the signal wire.

its just a guess, but its the only option I have right now.

this project is going slow as hell though!haha

yea thats the only real difference. You could also hook the other wires up to anything thats got power when the ignition is on. that way the sensor will work as it was designed to.
