Are the front fenders interchangeable on the Z31's (without changing other items)?

I know the flare is different within the body style, but I was wondering if it fit with the other stock items from my 85 if I put on a later version front fender...

If you don't put an 84 or 85 fender on it, it will look stupid.

The 86-89 fenders are flared differently and won't match the rear flares. And if you do one side and not the other, it will look even dumber.

Having said that, there are no issues with swapping any year z31 fender. They bolt right on with minimal work (some may need a hole drilled).

I thing the 84-85 model had a body line about 1/3 way up the door tht's not present on later cars so you'll spot the difference at the door

nope. every year has exactly the same door. just 84 and 85 had black molding just below the crease. and 86 had a black and body colored molding just below the crease. any other year, the molding was added by the dealership or previous owner.

I stand corrected, the body just looks so much smoother without that hideous, heavy moulding
