well, i recently ordered an lsd casing from a z31 said to fit into the 240's r200 diff, and i went to the nissan dealership closest to me to find out how much it would cost to put the guts in it, expecting about 200 bux. the guy comes back from asking the local nissan guru and says that one version is $560, and the other is $800! HOLY CRAP i could just buy an aftermarket clutch type for that! i think im going to be sick!

You went to the dealer and you thought you were going to get a part for an out of production car and you thought that you would get it for cheap? Come on man, use some sense! The dealer is the LAST place to go look for deals. Hunt the Nissan forums (www.freshalloy, NICO, http://www.northwestnissans.com, etc) for a wrecked Z31 and get their diff.

where do i go to get one with new clutches like i want? the dealership is the only option if i want a like new lsd...i think i will try to find a used one, but if i stumble upon a bag full of money, ill probably go for the kaaz 1.5way or something like that...

thats what i hear... the r200 diff that houses the lsd that came in the z31 is the same diff housing that is used on the 240 (or so i believe ~crosses fingers~) anyways, i just aquired a hook up to get nissan parts at cost and will be getting the lsd ready to go in soon!

im sorry but im 80% sure that the R200 from the 1988 SS (super rare btw) version of the z31 is the only one that is the same (and its a vlsd). I think th eclutch type ones you would need the entire assembly. if it works tho - awesome. 2 of those 3 are turbos - let me know what year you want - i am junk yard master. I have an extra set of z brakes to sell soon too

have any 5 lug swap stuff for the front? thats what i need... haha anyways, i suppose i may have been to trusting of the guy who sold me the casing, but he said for sure that its for the r200 diff AND its a clutch type lsd.... the guy at nissan didnt say anything about what diff it goes in, but it is a clutch type housing. ill ask around with my friend tommorow after work to see...
