So Friday I had an extremely lucky call. Some 'special' person decided to slam on their brakes to be able to make their turn in the highway. Started slowing down a bit and then I hit a patch of black ice. Wheels locked up, rear end kicked out, all the fun stuff. Ended up doing a 360 into a ditch (luckily there was a bend in the highway). Barely missed the idiot and missed some posts. To top that, I was able to drive away and everything/one was good. So I decided I better check into ABS potential for my 84. Upon looking on RockAuto, it says the 89 had ABS. This true? If so, I'll be on my lookout for all the parts for the conversion (during this fall anyways). And other than the module, ABS unit, speed sensors, and some new lines to add length, would I need anything else (such as specific axles for the sensors to take their reading? And would they fit in an 84 GL? Thanks for the help!

And I did do some searches under z31 and ABS with no luck.

Some European Z31 had ABS.

ABS and traction control are for idiots who can't drive.

No US cars has those until the government realized we don't actually teach people how to drive in this country.

Idiots who can't drive or people who live in the mountains with black ice and deer (potentially saves a lot of money). Looks like I'm on my own to figure out a potential way to equip a Z32 ABS system. Thanks for the clarification on ABS on the 89's ZBum.

And I wholeheartedly agree about traction control.

I'm gonna have to say the Z31 isn't the ideal mode of transport on icy roads, especially if you lack LSD as most do. If you want a daily with abs, I would recommend buying a daily with abs. In generally I don't like the driver nannies but why do come in handy from time to time and do their job even if the driver does not. I admit to being jealous on track conditions where the other driver can just flat foot the brakes and doesn't have to modulate the pedal at all allowing them to charge faster and deeper into braking zones.

My RHD Japanese Market Z31 has the ABS module. Infiniti M30's had it too, if I remember correctly.
