Has anyone had any success building a custom intake for the z24i? I haven't seen many aftermaket parts other than the air cleaner, but was I looking for some options like an airbox flat filter or a cone filter. I found this useful write-up outlining the various parts of the intake and throttle body:

Would it be possible (or plausible) attach a filter further down some piping, with the mass-air flow sensor being all the way up by the throttle-body? I have a stock KA24DE intake and airbox + K&N filter that I was thinking I could retrofit to the stock z24i air-cleaner somehow. Removing the circular filter and having the clean air drawn in down in a colder region. My z24i doesn't have the stock tubing from the airbox to the driver's-side fender, so it's just sucking up hot exhaust air right now. I just didn't find much resource on a custom intake that's different from the stock one, maybe its not worth it? Any input?
