Kinda of an old post but will answer...

Z24i is the first version of the truck EFI system for Nissan. I'm sure the Z24i you drive has a tired engine and sensors.

The Z24 carb doesnt rely heavily on sensors, just an old fashioned reliable carb to feed it.

If you were to work on your Z24i and replace sensors, rebuild head, and give it a ring job, I bet it would wake it up alot.

But then again if you were want to spend a bit of money and get the best bang for your buck, I would look for a KA24DE from a late model 240SX to drop in there as it bolts in and you will feel a big difference.

The trucks and early 240sx used the same motor at first, KA24E single overhead cam, but the 240SX later on went to the KA24DE dual overhead cam. Both interchange for the most part.

Might be worth looking into it.
