Z24 problems

Note: This is not a Cavalier related question. It's the engine code.

A friend of mine has a Z24 motor out of a 89 hardbody(i think). He is putting it in a new truck. The motor, after leaving the original truck, will not run correctly. He said that is floods at idle. He said that he has taken the injectors out, dried the fuel, and started it again - it rain ok for about 30 seconds and then it floods again. I told him maybe the MAF was bad or the timing was off. He told me this - this is the crazy part - it has done the same exact thing on 2 different motors. I really don't know anything about the Z24 motor, in fact I have never even seen one. Any insite on this matter would be super. And thanks in advance.
