Z24 Engine Performance and Dress Up...

I'm getting started on my 83 720 with the Z24 engine. Its goin to be a show truck, but I plan on driving it alot and enjoying. Its gettin air ride, big billets, all that kind of stuff. I'm used to owning GM vehicles with the LS based engines and have knowledge with those, but I dont know much about these little Z24's and whats available. I'd like to do a header, maybe turbo, and some other things. What all is available? I want it to remain reliable, but also want more power. Also what is available to dress up these engines (billet, etc)? Can I do away with all the emissions crap? If so, what do I need to do? I live in KY, dont have to do any emissions testing. Thanks for any help.
