Does the Z24 block have a crank and rods and everything? If I recall, the KA head will fit on a lot of different block with no problems, except maybe with some monkeying done on the timing cover.

Dont be dumb. Do alittle research first. I would also advise you to edit your post.

BTW great I was going to go about the same type of hybrid except using a z22 bottom end with z20 crank/rod combo. z20 crank is fully counterweighted. There is actually alot of info here on the different z style blocks. A z24 will work, I cant remember how much work is needed, but you can easily find the threads within here. I will try and grab some info I had found and post it up for you.

The reason I abandoned my project was, the block/crank combo I was going to buy, they had been thrown away, and trying to source that stuff here locally is insane, the prices are.

So Iam modifying my car to NASA TT and being done.

You just made yourself look like a complete idiot. A z24 block IS A NISSAN ENGINE. The engine code is z24. Look up the NASP-Z and understand. z20, z22, z24. L series motors, ALL NISSAN DATSUN design.

Good job on that one.

good lord, i hope you dont judge all of nico by this one member's ignorance... like trueslide said, deviouska is the master of such knowledge and can get you the info if he doesnt have it himself.

welcome to nico, try not to listen to stuff like that and maybe stop by the gen chat forum for proper introductions.

Yeah sorry about some of the idiots you will meet coming across this site. The Z24block isn't a bad block, but does infact have coolant passage issues. The large bore of the Z24 didn't allow for excellent flow. You may want to do some boring and porting to the coolant passages (if you can get any out of it). The KAE head is a direct fit, then all you need to use is all the NAPS-Z timing chain assembly incuding the timing chain cam sprocket, (actually better than using the KAE timing sprocket, for advancement purposes). If you are using flat tops that run at deck heigth I am assuming that the compression will be around a mid 9CR with a 90KAE head, and I believe in the low 9CR with the pre production 89 KAE head, which would be excellent if you decided to go boosted.Since the block is done just focus on head work like solid lifters and a good old port job. There defenitely fun and easy projects. Plan on modifying my NAPS in a few months once I get some time off work.....
