Last week I found a short shifter on a ttz at my local junkyard for the five finger discount. It looks exactly like the z1 short throw shifter but I heard there are knock-off and I'm really not trying to put that on my car. How can you tell if it's a z1 or a knock off brand???

You stole a shifter but you're "too good for knockoffs"?

I mean yeah, even though I stole it why would I want to put cheap parts on my car? I could just sell it. you can't tell me that you've never pocketed anything from a junckyard...

Most people don't advertise their less-than-impressive acts, and furthermore ask advise on carrying out whatever plan they had that also is generally not so impressive...unless you work in Government. Trump needs more people like this I hear...

No, I've never pocketed anything from a junkyard. I paid $2 for a tensioner bolt once. Then again, that's probably why I wear a badge and deal with people like you.

You're making my "less-than-impressive" acts into a much greater deal than it really is lol why do you care so much. That wasn't even the point

The point is that you publicly stated that you committed a crime (which makes you "that type of person"). But not only did you commit a crime but you stole something that at the time, potentially had no value to you, and now that you have given it some thought you consider pawning off (sale and purchase of stolen property are also crimes) on someone else (realistically creating a potential legal issue for the unsuspecting buyer). As for your later query, no, I have never stolen anything from a junkyard or anywhere else for that matter, furthermore I have never "shopped" at a junk yard for anything for any vehicle (I've been lucky enough to have connections to find parts without going to a scrapyard), especially my Z32 because it's not a corolla and its worth it to buy new or refurbished parts. On a personal note I wish I could b****-slap you right-now, thieves are the lowest of the low, doesn't matter if you're stealing a shifter from a junk yard or something much more sinister, the ethical implications of taking possession of something in such a manner is reprehensible and a something a generally decent person wouldn't do.

I care because morals and ethics right now is something that we lack massively here in this country- we are, and will suffer consequences for that because so few people seem to notice and too many like you just act however they want.
I take this lack of ethics and respect for others seriously and confront it whenever possible, and am thankful that the other Mods here feel and act the same way...we need far more of that.

I actually got burglarized couple weeks ago. So yeah, I take theft seriously. Truck window smashed and garage AC unit torn out of the window. Thieves are the lowest scum of the average person in my opinion and frankly I don't care of this hurts your feelings, as your feelings aren't worth considering. Very few people are lower on the scale than thieves.

Sidenote: it's always satisfying FINDING a thief and putting handcuffs on them. Especially if I can recover the stolen property.

Totally messed up that you got robbed, Ace, and I agree: I wish I had been able to find the bastard who stole all of my field woodworking tools a number of years ago that seriously set me back, and led to the situation I am currently in employment-wise...bottom line is stealing stuff has SO many issues that aren't seen, and can cause such havoc, that personally I'd love to see castration as a penalty for such people who hold others in so little regard by stealing from them what they have earned and paid for, an act (earn/pay) the scumbag thief won't do.

Got the Megan racing version for 20 bucks on the Ebay. Still good quality and I get to keep my morality. Although dam it was hard to fit without some extra washers.

I'm pretty sure Ace is an MP from his posts in the past when he mysteriously goes somewhere he can't talk about. He posted some pretty cool aircraft carrier shots years ago with fighters taking off, etc.
