the swap has nothing to do with smog unless you want to delete the cats and get tp's.

i wouldn't do it because it's a jdm engine, but other than that, i don't think they're horrible.

ya i was gonna call them up on monday but the reason i was asking was becasue i wasnt sure if anything they would use would casue me to fail smog. And thatnk you for telling me that they use JDM engines, thank you for that i might re consider.

Ask them if they can give you a warranty on the engine...they do have really good CS. Gather all your Q's and give John a call. He is very helpful.

Also, you should be able to find a few places in CA that can do the swap...Specialty Z comes to mind. You could as if they do it. That way you won't have to pay to ship your car across the country. And if anything goes wrong, you don't have to pay to ship your car across the country again.

Sell the NA, buy a TT. Way cheaper, plus it has the resale value of a TT and not a "custom car".

Believe me i want to but for the price we got the NA it was worth it and plus im only 18 and don't exactly got the money to maintain the turbos and replacing them if they break. My job allows enough for normal maintenance and small mods. But i really do want a tt haha

So you can't afford a TT but you're gonna get a TT? And either way you look at it, it's still cheaper to buy a TT. Even if you spent $3k on your NA, if you do the swap right you'll still have a solid $10k into your car at the end of the day.
