So didn't let y'all know that last week I finally got the lower intake manifold and plenum installed. I was semi able to feel her out through the week. Definitely felt like it picked up more top end. After 3500 and especially 5500 rpm you can really feel her move. Didn't take any pictures.

Got the Stillen UD pulley done today. Haven't had a lot of wheel time with that yet. But I did notice some of the power I've gained at the top. I've lost some at the bottom. So I felt like I recovered it back doing the pulley. Felt a bit more responsive down low. I can provide a link from Imgur if you all like. Only took 2 pictures. But it's pretty anticlimactic.

Obviously I need tuning. And I hope to do that soon. That'll come as soon as I figure out on whether the throttle bodies will be installed or not.

At this point, you don't have any aftermarket times to compliment those mods, correct? With a property dyno tune, of expect to see the VVEL take advantage of that airflow in the to end a little better. I'd also be curious to know what the duty cycle of the fuel injectors is as high rpm and high load with the increase in air flow. Once they get to about 80% they get mighty toasty and don't spray as efficiently.

Also, how's the charging and A/C systems with the underdrive pulley?

Who knows Aviator? It's been in the 30's where I live. AC is the last thing on my mind. :frown: But heater works great. :bigthumb: no tuning yet. And none In sight anytime soon.

I brought up possibly needing or upgrading injectors in a past post. It didn't really get much attention.

Aviator. If your like me. And I know your better in your research, than me. I've read like you and others here. The UD pulley doesn't show any significant change on the stock system. The guys that have big amps running their stereos are the ones affected the most by this mod. I don't see myself doing that. Stock Bose system is plenty adequate for me. But like mentioned. SOTP feels like I recovered some of my low end back. Or who knows if it's a placebo effect and I'm tricking myself into that frame of mind. But when I went down to Nissan to get my ECM number. The service manager commented positively on my car. Sound. And that it had a touchy Throttle.

I never said UDs are a bad idea. I've installed them on two previous cars. Both times I encountered charging issues at idle, but all that happened was dimmed interior and exterior lights when in drive at idle.

The biggest advantage of UDs is reducing that parasitic drag at high RPM. Of course parasitic drag increases in an exponential function to rotational speed, therefore the UDs are most effective at higher RPM. Usually these are installed when changing final drive ratio as a compensation to higher cruise RPM but are still effective in freeing up a few lb-ft of torque, but mostly in the upper end.

So what your saying is that the UD pulley would compliment upper rpm's? If so. Ok. So then maybe it's me tricking myself into thinking out of the hole power has become more responsive.
