Hi guys!

This question is for anyone who has the Z tube, what intake are you using with it (Stock,Stillen,JWT,K&N)? And why?

I just recieved my Z Tube today and am getting ready to install it. Just looking to see what others are doing with it. I have the fujita F5 intake on the car now but my CEL comes on every now and again and my gas milege has went to SH*T!

Also looking to add M35 5/16" Iso Thermal plenum spacer in a couple weeks, what are your thoughts on this whith a Z-Tube? And for those who have this upgrade how do you like it? Was it worth the money?

Thanks in advance guys, I really appreciate all the information I get from this forum!

as far as my air flow into the engine:

I'm running my Z Tube with the stock intake housing (and K&N drop in filter)...
also running the Motordyne 5/16 spacer, MRev2,

I'm also tuned with Uprev since increasing your air flow to the engine will make your car run LEAN...

as far as my exhaust flow out:
I'm running Berks High Flow Cats, Motordyne Xyz pipe (y-pipe replacement), Megan mid pipes and axle backs...

I have more usable power AND better gas mileage :bigthumb:

since you have the VQ35DE motor, you can get a lot of your parts used (for cheap) by looking at the G35 parts.... :dblthumb:

Thank you! This is alot of helpful information...I installed the Z-Tube a couple days ago, not sure how it compares to the fujita that I had in the car before. Will give another update as soon as i get to push the car a little more. I am thinking of getting the K&N drop in filter, maybe this will help the Z-Tube perform.

As soon as I finish all of my bolt on parts I will for sure look into getting the car tuned, the CEL code I was getting with fujita said the car was running lean, this is one of the reasons I decided to go with the Z Tube.

btw, since you're in southern cali, if/when you decide to get your car tuned - you can get the Uprev over at Church's since I see you have the M35x -- he has the ability to tune all-wheel drive cars...fyi

I have the stock filter and airbox with my z tube. I learned long ago on my Maxima to stay the f*** away from stock sized oiled filters like K&N. It killed my MAF and that was with the 'stock oil' (not after cleaning and re-oiling).

I use OEM air filters all the time now. Killing your MAF for .00000003 HP isn't worth it to me.

Thanks bro, I appreciate the advice. I have been researching some place to tune an AWD, not much luck. I will contact Church's as soon as i finish all of my bolt ons. Im in the works of researching the 5/16 spacer, and Mrev2, might even consider looking into exhaust as well.

But for those who are researching intakes for your cars, I had the Fujita on for about 2 months it defently gives the car a unique sound which sounded great but thats about all it did. Low end power seemed to be affected as well. I installed the Z-Tube last week with my stock air box and stock air filter and Daaamn what a difference. After 3k is were you really feel that extra pull, the Fujita DID NOT provide this extra power.

no worries man...all good...I like the fact of keeping the engine bay looking stock but having the stealth goodies at the same time...

I know once you get tuned you will really appreciate your ride even more...PM me if you have any questions on where to find performance parts -- our engines are the same as the G35 coupe (VQ35DE) so there's a lot of places to get parts.... :dblthumb:
