Hey i was wonderin when you are goin to race or launch off i know you get the RPM's to like 3500 or around 4000, but what gear do you do this in is it 1st or 2nd becuase of the power your layin down? Is that ok for the drive train and clutch?

When racing you're gonna want to launch in first, and yes high rpm launches are bas for your car, they wear the clutch, u-joints, and cv shafts, trans, and tires. The good news is in stock form with stock tires, the clutch takes the worst of it and the drivetrain is pretty safe. It's when you have high power, strong clutch and dragslicks that the drivetrain starts taking real abusew and breaking stuff.

Definitely first gear And just revving it up and dumping the clutch is not going to be the best for acceleration because you will likely either bog or spin tires. Slipping the clutch to maintain peak power+traction is your best bet, but it takes some practice to get perfect.

I'm sorry.

I have to wonder if you are worthy of your ride. You don't know how to drive clearly or you would know what gear to leave in.

And you have a z car to practice on???

You should have learned how to drive on something and then progressed to the z.

It sounds like an awesome car in novice hands.

Don't be another nick hogan.

You may, I say may. Because of the benefit of the doubt factor. But you may be part of the reason street racing is so frowned upon.

Just my opinions and there is a reason they are free.

Practice in a D210 or something. SO you won't hurt you or anyone else.

Ha ya i learnd on a z didnt F*** anything up on it tho i learnted really fast, but i definatly see where your comming from such an amazing car to learn on and all, I think tho that by learning on the car i will be driving its just made me a better driver in a car that many people cant drive right, ill be sure to stay away from that nick hogan thing tho every time i see that kid on tv hes crashing into something. But ya im not one of those racers the reason i askd is because i have a friend with a Z and he insisted that it was better to leave in second because of the higher tourque and the faster shift into 3rd which is a very quick gear for the Z, But ya no worrys dude i got everything straight no need to loose any sleep lol.

I'm glad you didn't take it offensive because it comes off like that and it was NOT my intention.

Hey thats pretty cool supras are amazing its to bad they stopped making them there insain. But i love the Z its definatly an eye catcher and i definatly like it when i always catch people takin double takes when i pass by. I think there stoppin the 350Z line after this year tho and from what i hear maybe putting some thought into designing somethin like a 450Z ive seen some pics but i dont know how realistic they are.

Supramacist is not right there^.Because he came to people who would know and asked he did the RIGHT THING.Besides he probably worked his *** off to get a 350z so he immediatly isnt pulling a nick hogan. Nick had a supra with crazy mods at the age of 15, used his dad's credit card to buy **** without asking, and somehow weasled himself into Initial D at the age of 16 (cough* payoff cough*).

the best advice I can give you is leave your TCS on and try some hard launches..find a luanch RPM and clutch combo that won't activate the TCS. (slip light) If you do this you are halfway there...after you do that try doing it without TCS...if you do this you will find your answer and you wont get stuck burnin rubber

p.s. dont turn off your TCS until you are used to the power of your Z

please drive safely!
