Here's my suggestion as I went through this same thing the beginning of this year. If you have your Z anywhere close to perfect for your tastes I would suggest keeping it and buying a shell with a clean title that hasn't been wreaked and swap LITERALLY everything from your old car to the new shell except damaged pieces. As long as you do it yourself it wont be real expensive and you can go over every part with a fine tooth comb to check on it's health. It's also a great time to do any upgrades or mods that you had been waiting on. It's hard and tedious but worth it in the end. I bought my shell for $1500 and the paint is better than my old car and no bent frame or any of that muff. If you can't do the work yourself then labor will slaughter you at a shop at $80 a hour or more. So I would take the money and run if you can't do it yourself. I swapped every interior piece, power train part, suspension, electronics and did 120k maintenance in my driveway in about two weeks total. I also wasn't working at the time, only taking 12 hours of college courses that were easy and didn't have a lot of other responsibilities at the time.
Hope that helps. It sucked but my car was the closest to perfect it's ever been once I got done. Good luck and I'm sorry to hear that happened to your ride.
