I have run into a few folks with Z's. They are always so nice and I have never met anybody that didn't love theirs or had had trouble with it. Last night I came out of the grocery store. Of course, I park in BFE and so was a new red Z. The guy was walking up to it so I drove by and talked to him. He had only had it a week and we were both just chatting away about how we loved them. He had traded in an '03 with 130k miles on his. Said he had never had any trouble with it. Most anytime I pass someone...we will wave and smile.

I love this car. :yesnod

Thats how it is for me to when I see any fellow Z enthusiast it doesn't matter which generation or which trim package.
Z's are awesome plain and simple and so is the community... The funny thing is its funny when I know more about their car than they even know. A guy came into our store to get some parts for his truck and we got to chit chatting about his Z33 that he drove to pick up the parts. Its real funny when I was teaching him about his car what to buy where to buy your parts who are the best vendors the difference between the engines (HR,DE). The different packages ect..

The used car dealer that he bought the car from actually told him the wrong info about it. So I corrected them incase he gets into a converstation with another enthusiast he doesn't feel like a total newb.

Oh I also schooled him some Z car history.

Then I showed him my Z and his jaw dropped. :rotflmao Not only did he have no clue that I knew that much about Z's but then when he saw that I am building a 650rwhp monster (with show and go) his jaw just literally dropped!

Then thats when I started telling him about the popular vendors that other Z33 enthusiasts buy performance parts from. I told him that as soon as the warranty ends he should supercharge it and i told him that I would help him install it.. He said as soon as it ends he is going to come by our store so that I can show him which supercharger to order. Then he will order it from our computer right there on the spot. (he doesn't have a computer)

The only problem is that since he doesn't have a computer he can't get on Nico. :(
But I did give him a Nico club card and sticker.

Sidenote: Are you still in Louisiana? If so we need to meet up as soon as I get my Z back together.

I'm sure you know a lot more about my Z than I do. :frown: I'm old school. I learned about cars when performance meant putting 3 2bbl carburetors on it. :chuckle: I think I have mentioned here before that I once owned a 280Z. It was a '77. That is when I lived in Louisiana. I have been in Memphis now for about 23 years. I'm really embarassed to tell you that I have never opened the hood on this car. I heavily modded my Z28, but I'm sure anything I ever do to this car will be cosmetic.

I know what you mean about car salesmen not knowing their products. One time I was looking at a '00 SS Camaro. The salesman told me that it had a ZR-1 engine. I wanted to say, If you will put down in writing that this car has a ZR-1 engine I will buy it. Dummy.

When I was younger, I worked at a Chevrolet dealership. I knew so much more about the cars than the salesmen did that when they had a real enthusiest come in, they would watch my switchboard and I would go on the lot with the customer. If the person bought the car, the salesman would always give me some kind of bonus. In the late 70's, it would really crack the fellas up that I knew more about the cars than the salespeople did.

What site would you recommend to me for simple things like air filters?

Specialty Z!
FOR. THE. WIN.

https://specialtyz.com/shop/jwt-370z-du ... ntake.html

No one knows as much as Greg and Seb do at Specialty Z. When you look at their site you will see that they don't offer that many products, thats because they only sell the best brands and everything they sell has been tried and true on either their own cars or installed by them then tested on customers cars....

I wish I could go into more detail about how awesome they are but I can't because they aren't Nico sponsors :(

About the Z34 I don't know much about the Z34 just because its so new I imagine not many people do... What I do know is that I love them and I love how they brought back the classic "swoop-up" quarter glass.

I love everything about it except the side mirrors from HELL. It is hard for me to see over/around them.

Thanks for the info. I need to check my air filter. I'm sure with 13k miles it is probably ready for a change. I assume it is a pretty easy switch. ;)
