I have a 1982 Datsun 720 pickup and rebuilt a 1984 z24 engine and installed
with a 5 speed. on hard right turns I loose oil pressure unless the engine is on the
full mark. then oil pressure does not drop. has mech. gage. runs great except this
problem. got any ideas? changed oil pump and filter. engine bored forty thousand
over and has stock bearings and a mild street cam and larger cap. oil pump.
runs 20" vac idle and 22lbs oil pressure. I also checked oil pickup tube for damage
when rebuilding engine.

Doesn't sound too unusual. The oil in the pan is sloshing away from the oil pickup tube, causing a brief drop in oil pressure. How hard of a right turn are we talking?

somewhat sharp at 30 to 40 mph. I think that have found the problem may
be the driver side engine mount has a slot in it engine may have more angle to
oil pan on that side . used z22 engine mounts on new engine . I am going to try
to raise driver side engine mount up one inch and see it it helps. problems only
exist on right turns unless oil is on high mark or slightly higher.
