Back in high school I had a friend who played it. He tried to get me into it (I was a M:TG player) and I couldn't stand it. I really don't like how it works. It's annoyingly tilted in favor of cookie-cutter decks, too.

Jesus, really six years ago..I feel old.

I mean i stopped right around when i was 13-14 but started to go ahead and give it a try again. Konami now has complete rights and all that bs to the game. And newer/ better ideas and more strategies have improved since the last couple of years.

indeed. which is why i started an building anti-meta deck, it counteracts with all the netdecking decks, and cookie cutters.

I just really need to leilow on the video gaming for a bit, my eyes are fried.

I kid, I kid! I'm just a big kid that can buy all the games I want now, electronic and otherwise (usually board games). I'll be gaming until I die.

Only TCG I ever got into was Highlander way back in the day. I quit playing once a crap-ton of broken cards got release and the game became less about taking somone's head and more about locking up their hand. I won't even get into the awful set collation of various printings or the endless and lengthy delays of new material(s) getting released.

My cousin gave me some of his cards when I visited him in the Philippines, I would start to play but my money pit has fallen already on yugioh, and I'm too lazy to relearn a new game.

Hah, i've been hearing what those people at magic have been doing. They've been banning the use of some of the old cards in regionals and whatnot so they can sell the new stuff which will be released in the future.

Haha, really? That's some old school tech. Haven't they reprinted both those by now in a structure deck? I can't recall. I know I got a Mirror Force but it's my original 1st Edition and stays in my main deck :yensod

Gold Sarcophagus and Crush Card Virus were the prize cards, there were others but nobody really cares about those ones. They released a gold pack series which was the only way you were able to get the CCV out of an actual booster pack, it contained 3 gold rare cards and 20 other essential cards (mostly rare cards printed as common) Gold Series 2 which comes out Idfk when, will main Gold Sarco as its rarest card just as CCV was as the first one. As of right now the booster pack crush card is valued at well over 300 bucks.

I weesh. Crush card has 2 cards it works well, Eradicator Epidemic Virus and Deck Devastation Virus. When all 3 traps are played in can pretty much lockdown the opposing player.

anyways, for kicks. Heres my current build. Gladiator Beasts.I tested it at a local tournament, I came in 9th out of 40 on my first time ever. Top 8 was guaranteed prizes.



Went back again few weeks later and came in 14th -_-

I got eliminated by some scum, we ended up having a mirror face off. He too had his own rendition of a Glad Beast deck.

Also, f*** YES COLD WAVE. I loved using that tech back when I used to play. Used at least two most of the time. Also, Exarion Universe was my pal. I kinda miss playing but they just kept pumping sets out so fast I didn't care to keep up with the meta anymore. And then my local tournies died off. Last one I ever played I placed 1st out of 8 =/

And Threatening Roar... when Opp declares an attack, ends their Battle Phase, no? I always preferred Waboku. Good chainability and I always used it on the offensive when suiciding monsters.

THe banned list had revived monster reborn and mirror force,but they're only limited to one. I was just as surprised when I found out, since the last time I was active it was only those reedik cards like cyberstein and fiber jar.

True with waboku, to use since it would save your hind in battle. I sidedeck those, but when up against other gladiator beast decks the best thing you want to do is prevent them from attacking. Once they attack and end their battle phase, that is when they're effects activate.

You summon that card and attack once, then you end your battle phase. If he survives, you pick up your deck and search another Glad Beast monster. Let's use..

Now since he was special summoned by a tag in his special effect is used, which is instead of having a DEF of 2100 it goes to 2400.

The great thing about it is that the effect works on either turn, as long as they are attacked, or attack and survive. 3 of the key cards in a Glad Beast deck are:

and what you want to do is bring them out as fast as you can. Unlike the olden days where you use "polymerization" the new fusion monsters are fused with "contact fusing." Instead of going back straight to the graveyard, they go right back into the deck.

One ouch of a combo is using the the last two out of that three.

As far as I'm concerned the only cards I see that have to taken out is, Call of the Haunted, Snatch, Premature, and 2 cyber dragons (limited) and ring of destruction,

I got my eyeball on that mirror force if your willing to sell, the real Metal Raiders Mirror forces are a hawt comoddity.

When you get a chance fill me in on that online dueling stuff you were talking about earlier, i've heard about that but never really looked into it.

If I get time this week I'll change the deck up a bit to reflect the changes, but I wouldn't have any of the new hot tech cards that have come out in the past couple years (whatever those may be). And that MRD Mirror Force is mine and will remain so for a long time most likely Had to bust my balls to get it.

As for dueling online, there are a couple programs you can use but I like just dealing a regular game in front of you and saying your moves over AIM. Real simple.

I never went to any actual tournaments or anything, but I played with my friends that did, and usually whooped on em haha. and I kept my deck up to date with the banned-card list...just because lol.

that's some crazy shiet, re-allowing Monster Reborn and Mirror Force.. I'm sure that changed the look of a lotta tournaments. I may have to throw those back in my deck just for kicks.

and soup, you said you were looking for Solemn Judgement and Mirror Force? if my eyes serve me right, looks like you've already got 3 SJ's and a MF haha. I wouldn't have the balls to run 3 Solemn Judgements in my deck.. what does that get you to, like 1000LP after all 3 are used? lol

it's also kinda weird that they would allow Heavy Storm, but not Dark Hole.. I always kinda pictured the two as a pair, either both "banned" or both "allowed"..

edit: gheey.. just realized a few of my cards are banned.. Black Luster Soldier - EOTB, Dark Magician of Chaos, Premature Burial, Pot of Greed, and Call of the Haunted are all in my deck...

I've got a second build, its an beefed up version of the just released "Spellcaster's command" Structure deck and i need some support cards for it, I don't like interchanging some cards from one to another, it gets all confusing or sometimes i forget. :P

Me neither, its funny cause Premature is banned. I forgot the entire reason but it had to do with one of the new syncro monsters that is coming out in a future pack, one of the effects allowed it to bring PB back to the hand (monster still remains since it wasnt destroyed). Which causes a great loop and allows you to reactivate it.

lmfao the cards of GOD. People said it was also Chaos emperor- EOTE, and Yata-Garasu that started the banned list.

It does my heart good to know that Konami is bringing this game to what it once used to be, and making it even better.
