like? dislike?

I personally like em, and out of the two styles (strips or no strips under headlights) I like the no strip / cleaner look of just the middle section painted.

So, what do you think?

When I first saw this kit, I thought rice, but after seeing more and more pics, I don't think its too bad anymore. But if you end up getting it, you'd have to get a rear body kit and some side skirts to go with it too. Also some aggressive rims too. I'd say without the stripes looks better.

I wouldn't do it. I think it looks ok, however I don't like the idea. Let the GT-R be its own exclusive thing.

Not a fan of it. You could pull it off on a lighter color car though. If your gong to do it do it with stripes down the lights.

I think it would look good, as one solid color. I don't like the stripes or the second color in the middle.

I am not a huge fan of it, but if it were free, I'd put it on my car.

I am 100% with Smocks... I would never do it.

I'm the opposite. When it first came out I thought it looked nice. Now i think it looks a little rice. I like it in red & black though.

Here's the line of thinking that's generally going to occur when someone sees one of these.

"Whoa, do you see that GT-R?" "No way, where?" "Right there! Oh, wait...its just a G...stupid."

Whereas, you could get a sweet body kit and you'd get this reaction:

"Dude! That's the best looking G I've seen!"

I don't like the idea of borrowing styling across models. I don't like the fact that the G/Z (mainly G) styling has been adopted into other Nissans...getting away from that was the whole point of completely redesigning the Infiniti brand. Come up with something else, be unique (that's also why I bought the G...nothing else looked like it except for the Z). You can have inspirations, but don't use them. The Altima might as well come with a bibliography citing its sources and crediting its style to the G. Where am I going with this? Don't put that kit on and look like a poser.

Many good points made, and I can see the reasoning behind each of them.First: Does one who wishes he could afford the GT-R and can't...do the next best thing and mimic?

Second: Is mimicking something your not mean your a wanna-be or is it simply a statement of what you aspire to be and settle for the next best thing? Who knows

Thirdly: Rice, or not Rice....that is the question. But I would like to also see one painted a solid color like a couple of you mentioned, cause the color scheme is what truly sets it off as a "GT-R" front bumper.

So anyone got a pic of a one color GT-R front bumper?

....more opinions or further example pics are welcome

First: Not necessarily in this case. Someone who can't afford a ZR1 will just by a C-6. If they can't afford that, then I guess a Camaro or Mustang?

Second: Why settle? If you aspire to be something, work at it, don't limit yourself. However, if you aspire and are limited in such a way that prevents you from getting there, whether that's money, education, or a set of skills required to reach that goal, again work at it, think outside the box. Remember the kid a couple months ago who wanted to play college football and he had his whole town thinking that he had talked to schools? That's mimicking, being a wanna-be. There's a difference between having aspirations and mimicking.

Thirdly: I don't think its necessarily rice, just not something one should do. The reason this kit is out is to make money off us due to all the hype of the GT-R. If it weren't for the GT-R, I'd say go ahead.

Very very true indeed, I must agree. It's basically a ploy to get people to buy using the hype of the GT-R. I won't buy one (not that I was going to anyways) but I was vaguely considering it. I would still like to see one with one color though, just to see it. And you're right too about the "Hey look! it's the new GT-R....oh wait It's just a G, bleh" But at the same time, where I'm from most people wouldn't even know what the GT-R is, they hardly even know what my car is HAHA. I guess it all comes down to as they say....to each his own.

It's really your call. I personally wouldn't see it as a positive mod.

If I had a 1st gen coupe, I'd go look into a rev-up engine (just me) and an LSD (cuz I thought 03s didn't have it, not sure).

Touche...where I'm from originally, no one else knows about the G around here except for people who know I have a G. You'd be hard pressed to find someone who's heard of Infiniti or who owns Infiniti (Nissan). As it says in my sig, I have the only G coupe in 16,000 sq miles, and quite possibly the only G...there might be a sedan an hour away but I'm not sure if it was someone visiting or a local.

I don't want to sound like I'm trying to convince you otherwise of getting it even though I say don't do it. Its just my opinion. And the line of thought is probably naive because we know about the GT-R and all. It would take someone who knows to know.

I like the new GTR front end, I would go with no stripes. I am actually looking to buy one for my G. I am torn between two body kits, can ya'll assist in making up my mind? One is the APR Wide body kit and the other is the new GTR body Kit. What do you guys think? http://www.intensepower.com/aprgtwikitg3.html or http://www.body-kitz.com/index....html

Despite my comments so far in this thread, I actually do like the APR kit better. Just get a different rear spoiler/wing.

If the kits were the same price, I'd go with the APR (hard to beat a wide bodykit) BUT since it's 4k and then another 2k+ for the body modding, install, and paint. And not to mention the Rims you'd have to buy to go with the widebody.

6k+ is MUCH better spent buying a Turbo IMHO, but like anything else...to each his own.

see, i like you USAF. you have a pretty sweet ride if memory serves me right. so why oh why this? i sai, let the GTR do its own thing. its bad enough we have everyone from the mustang, to the 200sx trying to mount GT-R badging to their cars. There are much more creative ways of personalizing ones G coupe.

just my 2cents...

I thought those were all myths because I just don't understand why someone would take badging from another company, but I actually did see a Mustang with a GT-R badge. It made me quite angry and I got up next to him and laughed.

I like the first If I had to pick, but the veilside widebody is still sweeter. My favorite G35 bodykit is the Damd one though.

Also I agree with the above post, spend the money on engine mods, such as turbo or s/c or just a lot of bolts ons if you want to stay n/a.

NOT!!!

You have a beautiful car. Im imagining that you have done just about everything else to your car that you want to - and want to do something to stand out a little more.

I really dont like this kit and I think it would be a step back for you. Cosmetically - I would prefer a widebody over the above. But I'm pretty conservative with the mods so I doubt I would do either - but that kit is ugly.

To me the end result doesnt look integrated - it just looks like a G35 with a big kit on it.

Disclaimer - I've never actually seen this kit in person - we know how things can appear on the internet - so I say try to peep a conversion already done first - before you take the plunge.

I like the solid color (red FTW!!!) I think that this type of mod is your decision...you gotta do what you think is best (looks-wise) for your car. Screw what others think...beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

With that being said, the money could be put towards an FI system for some real power gains....I'm a power over looks guy

I concur Joe! Power FTW! I've been wanting a STS turbo for quite sometime, but I think I might just end up going with a NOS setup (probably VENOM) and spending the extra 4-5k give or take on a boat!
Cali 2 Balti G wrote: I'm imagining that you have done just about everything else to your car that you want to - and want to do something to stand out a little more.
To tell ya the truth Cali 2 Balti, the only reason I was actually looking at the GT-R front end was because I currently have a Greddy front bumper that's seen better days, thanks to the wonderful road crews where I'm from and our state tree being the orange traffic cone, and the joy of getting caught behind a gravel truck with shrapnel spewing from his arse at 70mph I've got a few rock chips and cracks here and there which I was gonna get cleared/cleaned up and a new 3M Clear bra installed.

I was leaning towards the..."eh, might as well try something different if I've got to spend some money either way approach". But to tell ya the truth, the more and more I look at the bumper the more and more I don't like it...in comparison to others anyways. I've actually always been a fan of the TS front bumper as well. Maybe I'll go with that

Or maybe, I'll just buy a new boat and it can be my new ride to pimp out for awhile ......Although I've heard that the two happiest days of owning a boat are the day your buy it.....and the day you sell it. So we'll see how that works out

Thanks for the input all and Happy July 4th!

This will show you what an *** the guys at STS are, and will probably steer you clear of buying from them.

like it in white, but not many other colors, i don't like the style under the headlights where it can be painted. it is unattractive and doesn't really serve much of a purpose. since it resembles the GT-R i think it is just meh. GT-R is GT-R don't copy it. i think you would definitely need to back yourself up with good driving and good HP to go with the kit. Personally I am just keeping everything very simple. just carbon fiber lip kit. i don't think the G needs it.
